it’s generally not legal for dealerships to take nonrefundable deposits.

yeah I am fully open to shopping out of state and having something shipped up for sure . I was quoted $2545 for shipping from Seattle with Alaska car transport. My dad has bought 4 vehicles new from Kendall Toyota anchorage in the past 10 years and he told me they never once sold below MSRP or negotiated at all.

Have lived here for almost 15 years and don’t plan on leaving. There are certainly some drawbacks to living up here though haha. Dad’s army service brought me up but plan on staying. Based out of Seattle for my job with an airline so I frequent down there and could possibly shop Washington and have something shipped up

yeah I’m thinking either things will get scarce if that’s the case or the lots are going to fill up and they’re going to sit. I know I’m not going to pay a 25% markup for a vehicle but that doesn’t mean others won’t I guess we’ll see .

after I saw this I said no thanks. If I even consider doing business with them I’ll wait until something is on the lot. But I’m more looking out of state now. They had a damn trail hunter in the showroom with a $9,995 “dealer market adjustment”. What a joke

You could drive it up in the summer. Better have good mud flaps, side steps and ppf though. I’m sure Bellevue Toyota could get it setup however you like with lift, wheels and tires.

yeah that’s one thing I wish I had done on my 15 Tacoma is the paint protection film. My mom purchased a 2016 4Runner new years ago and she had the front half of the vehicle covered in PPF and it’s held up wonderfully although it’s probably due for replacement soon.

One of the Tacoma’s at my dealer had these TRD UCA’s and coils but it was otherwise stock and didn’t seem to have a markup at all anyone know what’s up with that is this some kind of package I haven’t seen? It was obviously lifted but with stock wheels and tires.

gotcha I was surprised I didn’t see any additions on the sticker but I’m sure they weren’t giving that away for free

It should be on the regular sticker as a factory/port option and not a dealer option.

I think those who bought from June 2024 up until March 2025 got in when the getting was good. At minimum, I think its safe to assume that the ~10% discounts a lot of guys are currently getting will soon be a thing of the past. Whether MSRPs will also go up this year is hard to know. Toyota is no doubt calibrating their response.

I don't know. There was a lot of downward pressure on price from consumers specifically. That hasn't changed, maybe it's gotten worse due to the market downturn. If they jack up MSRP or reduce discounts, surplus inventory will get worse. Demand is just too inelastic right now. They could throttle production or reinvest into less protectionist parts of the globe, but they're probably holding out that tariffs or their champions will fade. Toyota will probably try to balance price bumps with overfilling lots hoping that this will pass and they can offload the backlog eventually.

Hello everyone. New to this sub, I'm in the process of purchasing a 2025.

I've driven Tacomas for the past 25+ years, but they've all been 1st gens. My most recent one was a 2004 TRD Off-road with 275k miles. The only reason I moved on is because the frame rusted out.
    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed - 2025 TRD Sport DC 4x4, Terra, AT, 6' bed
    2. MSRP(before dealer add ons) - $43,100 (before options)
    3. Options - FE, EF, LV, PU, 2T, WL, 2T, MF. $6,123 total. This includes $1,495 delivery, processing, handling fee
    4. Cost of dealer add ons- (tint, floor mats, nitrogen, etc) - N/A
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate - $46,834. this includes $529 dealer doc fee
    6. Discount 1-(#5/#2)*100=% off MSRP) - 8.7%??
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash) - N/A
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD) - $49,896.13
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim) -N/A
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value - N/A
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade) - N/A
    12. Date purchased - 4.7.25
    13. State purchased - MA

Trying to join the family. I just got quoted at 53K out the door for a 2025 TRD OR, 4x4, double cab, 5ft bed, and premium package. Is this a good deal or am I getting taken advantage of? Thanks!
