2024 TACOMAWORLD SECRET SANTA is back on!!!!!!

Three of us will be running this shit show and trying to keep y’all in line. We’ve got OG Santa @emelianenkov, moderator meanie @Daria, and the muscle @hoarder23. This is the tenth year, we expect it to be unforgettable. Do great things and be kind to others.



Here’s a timeline….


October 31th, signup starts.


November 15th, signup closes.


November 20th, all names are distributed.


You can send gifts as soon as you receive your name.



Everyone should hopefully receive their gifts BY Christmas. We understand there are often delays. If there is a serious delay, you will likely get a message from @TWSS asking what the deal is. If you don’t respond, we will be ready with the ban-hammer and you’ll end up on the @KRAMPUS list of naughty children. You could alleviate this by having a friend PM your recipient letting them know there is a delay or mail them a postcard letting them know there is a delay. Be creative or don’t participate, people! There is no reason to be lazy.


NAME SUBMISSIONS CLOSE NOVEMBER 15TH AT 12 Noon EST, NO EXCEPTIONS and we mean it!!!!

Participant qualifications:


Members must have joined on or before 1/1/24.


Members must have at least 750 posts by 10/29/24 (the day of this announcement) to be added to the list! Don’t BS your way to 750 if you have 598 currently. Just participate more in the community and join in the fun next year. We have the right to deny participation to anyone for any reason(unlikely to happen but some people are on a one year time out or permanent ban from future events due to various reasons). If you’ve been banned this calendar year, this may ruin your chances of participating, depending on the crime. If someone gets banned for any reason while during the Secret Santa season and they are participating, they will be removed from the event and will be banned from future events. THIS IS YOUR WARNING TO BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR!

You must be fairly active in the current calendar year. We have the right to refuse entry to those who are not active. Example: someone that joined in 2014 but has 10 posts in the last 2 years.

Again, elves have the last say in all qualifications and rules.

Basic rules:


- DO NOT ANNOY THE ELVES. Poking elves can lead to being banned from the reindeer games in the future.

- Don’t be that annoying IN! guy/gal.

- Keep gifts PG-13 unless you know the recipient personally, lets not upset spouses or make things awkward for anyone… Calm down with the “adult” gifts.

- Absolutely NO WHINING!!! If you whine incessantly, you may face a ban from future events.

- Assclownery and douche-baggery will not be tolerated. Try to stay on topic, otherwise elves may beat you with a stick or send KRAMPUS to your house.

- YOU must do the legwork once pm'd. If you need help, ask a friend to help. The elves WILL NOT do your dirty work.

- You must send a gift to the name you get, no exceptions. The elves DGAF if you don’t like someone. Just be nice and send some shit. Don't be a dick or meet Daria's banhammer.

- Once on THE LIST, you must send something REASONABLE to the name pm'd to you..

- You may be sending a gift out of the Country. There’s no opt out for this.

- Same as years past, there is no cap, you can be as generous as you wish but there is a $50 minimum for gifts excluding shipping costs. If you decide to go nuts and spend a ton of money, don't expect the same from your secret santa.

- We will do our best to make it fair and not have anyone in the same state, but it's hard when we have hundreds of participants each year. If you get someone that you’ve sent to in the past and do not want to send to them again, please reach out to @TWSS so we can swap your person.

- Mods and elves here on TacomaWorld take no responsibility if someone flakes and does not send a gift. We will do our best to fix it, since we will have their names/addresses…. Maybe I’ll send cousin Vinny to break their kneecaps.

- As long as you're on the commit list with full name AND handle, you will send AND receive a gift.

- Once a gift is received, please post a picture. Don’t make your SS sit there anxious and freaking out, wondering if a porch pirate snagged your booty. Please make sure to censor names and addresses to protect everyone’s privacy, or what little we have left nowadays. Please proactively check for packages but don’t whine daily about not receiving anything. It’s annoying and you don’t want to anger the elves.

- If possible, keep proof of the item being sent in case it's lost/stolen in the mail. At the very least, we can prove that it was sent out. The elves don’t need this information proactively.

- Once Nov 15th, 12 Noon EST is here, you can not back out of your commitment, to be fair. We use time stamps, don’t try to argue this.

- If you choose to send your gift in a box, it's your choice to wrap it or not. Recommendation is to not send it in the box it came in, as to ruin the surprise.

- If you have issues receiving packages from a particular shipper, please make mention of it in the notes on the initial sign up form. Like if you cant receive USPS, it would be crucial for your secret santa to know this in advance.

Shipping tip:

The minimum gift value excluding shipping is $50. We all know logistical costs have gone up year over year. We suggest using Pirateship.com to save on shipping costs. You still get tracking info but you save a lot with USPS and UPS shipping due to their large volume discounts.
