Been thinking of you guys this week! Not sure about your plans, but I'm onto at least plan D at this point for where I'm going thanks to the incoming snow.

Thanks, I would if I could. My original plan was to bring my older (only 3) camping, but with 18" of snow on the ground there's no way I could keep him warm and dry the whole time. Then my wife's job gave them the day off so now she wants to join and bring our little guy. So now the plan is to camp her friend's backyard. Which is still okay, but I always try to do stuff the hard way.

 

Don't worry there's still a Tesla somewhere enjoying it's last week as a functional vehicle. There's always a bigger idiot.

 

North Maine Woods is going to be hilarious. I wish we were going there just so we could watch the disasters unfold.

We're so far out of the way, I think there might be some traffic on the main roads to contend with, but otherwise we'll be okay.

 

I wonder if Prius girl is planning on going up.

It looks like you guys will have nice weather on Monday as of now at least. My plans of a day trip to VT have fallen apart as both kids now have sports games scheduled.

 

?? Lol - they're completely closing at least the one credit union I am in and some other businesses for the whole day in the area to give the time off (probably cause employees won't be able to get around easy either??) They actually scheduled sports events that day? "Night Game" protocols...


BTW Franklin (NW VT) is showing 52 Sunday and 59 Monday... seems like mud may be more of a problem on Crisis Day. The ground is already defrosted, so a lot coming down as wet snow in the next day or two will be mush and melting already on Fri / Sat. The dirt roads it will be .... "fun"

 

We aren’t going to be in totality here so it shouldn’t get too dark but it still will be pretty distracting for the kids playing in the games.

 

Where did you guys settle on camping near Island Pond? I'll be heading to Newark, VT on Saturday Morning to meet the fam, but would love to stop and put faces to names.

 

No shit, I'll be headed up from Saratoga that way to meet at hill farmstead for noon if you want to convoy/stop in

I’m working with a new teacher this year, she has family that lives in VT, and her family had to stay with them this summer while they completed the move from out west to Maine. She said the Hill was the only thing her husband liked about staying in VT.

 

Man this eclipse weather has been the exact opposite of early forecasts! Arkansas isn’t looking very good right now. looks like I’ll be stressing today over heading down there or something last minute.
