I have a buddy who is loading up the car right now for two-three days of skiing at Whiteface before heading to his eclipse place...

 

3 inches here in Pt Au Roche NY. 10 minutes away they have 18. Whiteface got at least a foot. I am off to Mt Washington Saturday and plan on hitting a trail or two Sunday on my way to the coast.

 

Hotels here were going for $800 a night. Some of my friends are renting out camps at $600 a person. Another friend is renting vans and doing a complete shuttle service from NYC to Plattsburgh NY. Make that money

 

That seems a bit absurd to pay that much. People are crazy. Being on the roads with these people is going to be even more crazy.

 

Yeah, even if snow sucks I'm very happy to boondock it if it gets me away from the nonsense

Roads shouldn't be too bad leaving Monday. 114 down to the interstate, from there yee-haw. Probably going to be busy, but not gridlocked. Radar cruise, enjoy the music, off we go.

OT: Had 9+ on the deck. Our road is all clear here, and if ours is then most others will be already perfect (we're always last to melt). Should be good up this way except for the highest elevations if anyone is traveling this evening.
