I went with SR5, could determine no difference in ride. The specs seem to be the same as far as suspension. My SR5 does not have leaf spring but the coil suspension. There is a big difference in payload according to spec. SR5 = 1400 Sport =1700. Only difference I can find is the wheel and tire size and the load rating on the tire, sl on sr5 and xl on sport.
I weighed my truck empty, 4605, GVWR is 6005 so the 1400 is a real number.

I've noticed the SR5 has a pizza cutter spare tire, TRD has full width spare. Thats not listed online anywhere.

Well damn that’s a good thing to know. I was leaning towards the SR5 with the extra little features and just upgrade tires/wheels then other stuff down the line. I appreciate everyone that has chimed in.

My SR5 has a full size spare the same size as the rest of the tires on the truck

Thanks for the info. Seems there might be some shenanigans happening because at my dealer I looked under the trucks last week and saw the same thing as in this thread (TLDR the dealership fixed it after he complained)

There's no rhyme or reason to the spare tire thing. Local OR with some upgrade package as it has the 14" screen and leather has the baby spare.

No reason to doubt what someone says they have as long as they have checked first.

That's a slap in the face if lower models get the full size and higher the doughnut thing

I honestly think someone at the plant was just grabbing and tossing spares at whatever came down the line haha.

Real issue is Toyota pulling this stunt in the first place. If I owned a new Taco, checking the door placard for what it is listed as having for a spare and under the bed might be the first 2 things I would look at.

I cannot understand why you would buy a 2 wheel drive truck …maybe its me i live in the northeast, snow snow snow , mud and more mud……anyway , myself im ready to buy a new 2024 , im settled on the sport, although the turd looks good also …not needing all the electronic options im fine with sport minus all the stupid dealer/ port add ons its a bullshit money grab based on greed and if i encounter that i will walk out, my local dealer is pretty forward its this and that no price bumps …so im going in the direction to give my money to them
    Cheers, David
