It was weird seeing a Suczuki out front. That hasn’t happened since Bubba got tricked into riding for them.:bikewhoops:

Sounds like the 4 big guys are going to be back next week. Though I haven't heard anything about Ferrandis since he really doesn't post much online.

I like JA21 and have been rooting for him this season. I still think be has the speed to beat Eli, but this stupid drama with Malcom is ruining his season.

Was a fan of Malcom until Daytona. The takeouts and track skipping were BS.

Be cool if JA21 could pull a second overall this year

He has the speed but he brought a lot of that drama on, himself. And now with the points the way that they are, Eli can settle in to 2nd if need be, on nights where JA is faster. So it's going to be tough from here on out unless something happens to Eli.

No way Anderson can beat Tomac on that Factory Star Yamaha. :bikewhoops: Tomac would take Anderson out before he would ever lose a Championship to Kawasaki.

Eli hasn't looked as composed through the whoops (which has made or broken several races this year) as Anderson on the Kawi....Eli has gotten away from that "win it or bin it/JS7) style and collected points all year.

I think that has to do with Anderson being almost 1/2 foot taller than Tomac. Eli has looked pretty good in the whoops this year in my opinion. That Yami just powers on through.

....I was referring to the West coast races specifically. Last weeks whoops looked more normal with the track degradation over the night.

My boss's brother is part of the track crew. Earlier in the week, he said expect this weekend's race to rut up pretty heavily. It's not tacky like last week's soil. So I guess we will see. I think the firm spots at Detroit were really giving the rider's problems, even though the conditions didn't appear to be that bad.

Here is my 2 cents worth on the track conditions. First off, the track is the track, every rider races the same dirt, obstacles, berms and ruts. While I do agree that some minor track maintenance is required to keep the track more raceable for the fans and to keep if from getting to one lined, I have never thought it is a good idea to make it less challenging by taking the difficulty out of the track. No matter what the track crew does, riders are always going to push it to the limits of the track and sometimes more, creating mistakes and yes crashes. Example, F1 tracks had rumble strips on the corners of the track to limit how fast the driver can take a corner without leaving the track surface, they kept pushing the limits by make the suspension stronger to handle going up onto the rumble strips which eventually lead to going off the track and losing control. F1 now adds more asphalt to the outside of the rumble strips because the drivers kept going on top of and over the strips creating more speed, accidents with greater speed and new types of wrecks. My point is to leave well enough alone and let them race, if the rider or driver overrides or drives a section and crashes it's the rider or driver's fault, ride what is given to you and if you don't feel comfortable on the track, pull a Dungey and just finish, get points and move on to the next track where you might feel more comfortable and push it harder. I am all about safety, but racers will be racers. I raced motocross, offroad buggies and road raced for 40+ years and I can't ever remember the motocross promoter doing track Maintenace on race day.

Sorry guy's, I'll get off my high horse now. I know what they say about opinions, this is mine.

Super glad to see most of the riders back this week and it will be interesting to see how competitive they are after the hard get off's last weekend. Always been a big fan of Tomac, Mookie and JA. It really looked like JA was trying to ride a little less aggressive towards other riders last week, too bad it didn't pay off. This week looks like it is going to be another challenging track, can't wait to see who is on top.

You make a lot of good points. There is def a balance. Last week in qualifying, that section where Webb crashed took out a bunch of guys. They changed it before the 2nd qualifying, but it still was really just a tight section w little room for error. In the main, that was just a lapse in judgement on his part. The section was still tough but that was on him. It's really only a tough call in SX. In the Outdoors, I don't think it's really ever an issue. SX in just inherently more sketchy.

BREAKING Justin Barcia has received a 3 point penalty and a $3,000 fine from the AMA for his move on Jason Anderson in the 450SX Main Event.

This is just idiotic....3 points and $3K fine...he made 6 figures probably from even hitting the podium...that'll teach him....
