Penalty for that block pass is stupid anyways.

Isn't the penalty more so because he is on probation, and not necessarily because the take out was "dirty"?

I believe so honestly... It was a "bump & run" pass that caught JA off guard and balance.

This year has about as much drama as F1.

Finally catching the races. Macadoo and Lawrence put on a great show for the main!

After seeing the Barcia/Anderson crash at real speed, I think it was yet another bullshit take out like we have every weekend. Dirtier than I thought it was based on all of the hub bub to be honest. Anderson was already turned down and in a straight line, Bam straight up cut the turn to take him out.

Idk what these guys are racing for all season if they're willing to just give Eli the championship on a gold platter.

That's just Barcia. But at the same time, Anderson probably could've been a little smarter about it. Watch how Eli was carefully picking and choosing the exact time to pass Barcia. And once he did, he basically made sure there was no way to retaliate. And he kept him behind him just enough that he couldn't strike back. Eli just has racecraft that Anderson lacks.

    I agree with this comment.

I think the comparison of passes is null, tho. Eli passed Barcia late in the race in lapped traffic, and that certainly contributed to the pass and subsequent gap he was able open up quickly.

Anderson and Barcia were battling for the lead with an open track in front of them. Barcia fumbled in the whoops and Anderson took position no contest. Barcia would have been in the starting gate if Anderson wasn't there to stop him. Anderson is head down, charging out of the turn, Barcia isn't even in his line of site until he hits him. At race speed you can watch Barcia drift right across the triple and just send it in a straight line through the turn with full intention.

Not defending Anderson here as much as it sounds like I am, either. More so just trying to bring to light that Barcia's move was far more out of the norm than it was "rubbin is racin".

Oh I agree. But I was just making a point that Eli is a lot better at not putting himself in situations to allow Barcia to do that. Because he is going to, hence why he's on probation and got penalized again.

I like your comment from a week ago. ET3 is about to settle into second/third place (Dungey mode) and just cruise his way to a ship. The rest of the pack is just going to keep killing eachother (or themselves) off.

Ya I mean, he's managed to stay clean and know when he doesn't have the speed to win. There were nights when JA had more speed than he did and Eli just managed rather than do something stupid. It's the smart move at this point. But I never expected there to be this big of a points gap at this point of the season. It's a little bit of a bummer with how deep the field is.

My wife and I were talking about depth last night, and how crazy it is that the top 2-3 on any weekend still manage to lap into the 6th position!

Low 40sec laptimes on a football field stadium floor is ridiculous. But I'm not sure how to fix that. But when lap times are that low, it's going to be that way, unfortunately

Tomac definitely tries to race clean and smart. I'm all about aggressive racing and passing as long
as it's clean and there is no intent to hurt another rider. Passing is racing and racing is passing.
Some guys do it better than others. The best racers tend to be the best passers.

This is true. But to be fair, when you are significantly faster than your competition, it makes passing a lot easier. It's usually guys who can't just set someone up and beat them from point A to point B, that have to cut across and block pass etc. The guys you mentioned were all excellent passers and really had so many options on how they wanted to pass someone. Sometimes they would run it in deep on someone but rarely anything questionable, because they simply carry more speed than the person who they are passing (not to mention having excellent racecraft.)

The pass Tomac put on Barcia in the main is a prime example. Tomac carried soo much speed through the turn that Barcia had no time to react. Barcia knew Tomac was behind him but by the time Barcia was figuring to either go inside or outside Tomac had already pulled the pass.

So now we want the tracks and dirt to be easy and we want clean passing but you can’t be too fast otherwise you are lapping everybody? You people are crazy! This has been an awesome season to watch!

Tomac has to be enjoying this all these guys banging bars while he picks his way to the front for wins. Without that incident it would have been an interesting finish Anderson and Barcia looked fast.
