2024 Supercross Thread

Interesting discussion coming up after the changes this weekend, namely:

• Validity of Chase going to KTM now;
• Coop to Yami may be sooner than anticipated;
• Where does Ferrandis end up.

 

Chase going to KTM seems very likely. I would put Webb to star at about 95% happening and I think Ferrandis goes to 1 of the Austrian trio bikes. I don't know which one, but that would be my guess. That I haven't heard any actual inside rumors or anything though.

 

Is Honda going to let Chase go now that he wins SX? They are going to just give away #1 for 2024?

 

I don’t see that happening. I also don’t think he would want to change bikes after getting everything dialed in.

 

The fact that he could grab both titles this year. I think Sexton signs a 1 or 2 year deal with Honda. Honda wants to show off that #1 450 plate next year.

 

Nothing is official but Chase hasn't been happy with the bike all year. Yes, he will win the title but he was clearly struggling with the bike. Nichols has confirmed that they are having chassis balance issues. Also, strong rumors of Chase not willing to be under the same tent as Jett, both being No.1 guys on the 450. Also, some people claim the KTM deal has been done for a while. I don't know that to be true but I think it's more possible than staying at Honda. Star supposedly made a push for him but I doubt anything happened there because word is Webb to Star is a done deal.

 

Dang, I would love to see Chase go to Star, seems like he has really matured the 2nd half of the season.

 

I agree. Completely screws over Justin Cooper, though.

 

Chase staying at Honda would be like the 2005/06/07 MotoGP team Honda had when Nicky Hayden had the title and Pedrosa was the main rider....bad situation for him.

Lol I dunno if it was right/wrong, it was just me thinking out loud. Like I said before, I've seen guys get that plated and be right back. I just kind if assumed with the year he was having that he had a window to probably get that done and be able to ride the Series and make a run. Hopefully he is on the gate soon.

 

450 looks, points-wise, to be a snoozer...Sexton takes 1st, Eli the Bridesmaid and whether Roczen scores a win or 2 points he's 3rd...

Hoping like hell the 250s brighten the night with the Lawrence brothers out there fighting...I hope... East/West shootouts always make me wonder which coast is harder competition-wise.

 

These racers are badass. I was in a motorcycle accident last year and had multiple injuries...it's a lot of hard work rehabbing and staying positive.

 

Hopefully there’s some excitement with Deegan and the Lawrence Bros. Assuming they even race.
450s probably won’t be worth staying up late to watch. Watch the highlights on Sunday.

Agree. I had a similar injuries as Barcia last fall from a crash, more rest and recoop time needed

It's tough to say the least hopefully you're feeling better. I now have a rod in my femur like Malcolm. Healing takes a while and these guys get right back at it often riding while injured.

 

Either Lawrence Bros 1-2 the 250s or HRC grows some big boy hairs and puts Jett on a 450 to give Roczen a hard time.

 

I don't see that happening with the Lawrence bros coming up to 450 next year. Chase wants to be the #1, and I think Honda wants that to be Jett. Chase can go to KTM and be the #1
