Probably worth noting too that this test on the 2024 was with the TRD OR on 265/70R17 tires (31.6 inch diameter)
The 2017 and 2015 TRD Pro trucks used 265/70R16 tires (30.6 inch diameter)

So we are seeing these improvements on a truck that is on larger tires too

^Yeah it also did it with the handicap of an 8-speed transmission (more shifting in a 1/4 mile).

Pretty crazy the sway bar disconnect mechanism is a $1230 option on its own.

More gears in an auto will help, not hurt, in the 1/4. You can see it, along with the better tq, really being the difference here. New model is .7 quicker but only 2 mph faster in the 1/4. And shockingly 4.7 seconds quicker to 100. I know most of these numbers don't matter but should fix most of the drivability issues people complain about in the 3rd gen.

Yes as tested by Motor Trend. Motor Trend tends to generate quicker acceleration numbers than Car and Driver.

    Motor Trend also squeezed a 15.2 sec @ 91.6 mph out of a 2016 V6 SR5.

That S-Runner is in that list as being supercharged, so that was tested after a dealer installed a blower.

A simple tune would probably get the 4th gen there

^I don't know if a tune will be "simple". The MT version is already detuned for crankshaft hammering. The AT version may be at its limit already, with some vibration mode that can't be attenuated with the two balance shafts.
