Hoping someone can help me. My SR5 came with the toyota stock flat running boards which sit very nicely as far as distance from truck. There is no way to lower these unless your make new brackets or spacers. I would like to get replacements that the steps sit a bit lower. I'm thinking 2-3 inches lower would be perfect. Not worried about clearance. Can anyone tell me the step height of some other brands. I am thinking the ones considered " drop step" style would be lower. Not sure how to measure the step height either. From the ground to top of the step would help only if you have the stock 245/70R17's like i do. If you have a different size tire then from the bottom of the door edge to the top of the step would be a helpful measurement. Then i could compare that to mine. Greatly appreciated.

Flat tubular style are a very nice step for a stock toyota...
I suggest getting accustomed to them, vs trying to re-invent brackets.
Wont look good lower & you will cheapen your vehicle....
Predator steps on the other hand are the gayest thing toyota invented.....
If you really want to rig things, you may be able to space them down by adding a spacer where they mount to the truck & use longer bolts....
I still vote with leave it as is...
