Very entertaining race, a bit heavy on safety cars but I stream it so I was able to fast forward through them. Piastri probably deserved a penalty but I felt as though 10 seconds was harsh. Max once again showed his savvy by making the whole episode look more dangerous than it actually was. Can't say it broke my heart to watch him lose control seconds later.

 

Definitely didn’t deserve the same time penalty as Max did for yeeting George in Spain, should’ve been 5 seconds. Other than that pretty good race! Happy for Hulk, the memes this week will be glorious!

 

I almost forgot! I don't bother with post-race stuff much anymore but I stayed for this.

 

A 5 second penalty would have had zero affect and it was definitely a dangerous maneuver.
Hulkenburg called Piastri out in the cool down room when Piastri was whining about the penalty saying that him braking hard concertinaed all the way back down the field.

I laughed out loud when Piastri asked if him and Norris should swap positions… good luck with that!

 

The Race has a good breakdown of the penalty on their youtube channel comparing it to Piasti on lap 17 and George in Canada.

A couple of key points, lights on the Safety Car were out (rules on sudden breaking/acceleration kick in) and conditions (I read spray).

Sounds like it's not just Horner, Oliver Hughes out too (chief marketing officer) and Paul Smith (director of comms)

 

On track performance related? Off track issues related? Or both?

 

How funny would it be if Horner ends up at Aston Martin and Max goes too. LOL, that would break everything.

 

Just watched a video of Horner at an all staff meeting announcing that he is no longer operationally involved but is still employed by redbull.

Being employed still doesn't really mean anything, it's just strictly for legal purposes while they work out the separation agreement, comp, etc...

Pretty standard practice, the only interesting part that will likely come out in the coming weeks is whether he'll be on gardening leave or not and if so for how long, because I can think of a handful of teams in the paddock that would gladly offer him a contract and knowing Christian I'm sure he's going to want to stick it to RB in some way, shape or form in the future.

There's a lot of chatter going on right now and it's kinda hard to sift through what is real and what is BS so I think we'll need to wait for the dust to settle a bit before we know what actually happened.

 

Worst part of this will be it will amplify the ugly American blowhard, Toto puppet, Zak Brown.

 

Wha wha what!?? Ginger spice is going to be pissed!!!! Who knew the Horner would be out of a job before Yuki. Maybe he will beg Max to bring him over to Mercedes lol.

 

You know as much as I do that he can't take people giving him the orders because he is the one who barks the orders. His ego is too big to step down and stay with Red Bull. If he doesn't get another team principal job somewhere else, I bet he will either retire or go to work for Austin Martin shining Lance Stroll's shoes for his father probably being paid the same because of Daddy's money.
