Hi, I have a brand new 2025 Off Road with 380 miles. I just discovered if you make a hard turn, right or left, almost all the way, in 2WD or 4WD, I get a loud clunking and kickback through the steering wheel. It has BFG Radial TA's but purchased them through the dealership, they aren't rubbing, they aren't large, just better tires. It is going back to the dealer in the morning but wondering if you'all have any any thoughts. I couldn't find anything loose but something is wrong.

@Bluesky KCMO Is the behavior any different if you're on a soft surface like dirt or gravel? Maybe the 4WD system is stuck engaged, even though the indicator light is off.

    Yes, especially in 4WD.

It was a broken right front axle. Toyota engineering is looking at it next week. BTW, I have owned a Toyota FJ for 16 years, none of this is new to me Mr. JB_TN.

:), my concern now is did I play a role in this? I might have tried to put it in 4L but I don't think so, I am still scared of the dial system, my FJ has levers. Later

Did you go off-road in some rocks or do anything remotely treacherous?

not remotely dangerous. I changed to 2HI>4HI and back again. Wondering if I also tried to switch into 4LO but don't recall. I was looking to get in trouble though, just couldn't find it. The Service Tech said he had heard of this before but never seen it. Maybe a bad casting, I don't know. SUPER unusual though.
