The fire is not burning that direction which is a good sign for our trip.

buuuuut its burning towards town which isn’t so good. Its currently on the edge of the ski resorts and some areas have been evacuated

Still way early for them (campground admin) to make that call. Unless the campground takes damage and they know they can't fix it in time. Otherwise I wouldn't look for refunds until the week of since anything can change in a matter of hours for better or worse.

It's the Radford Fire. As of lunchtime today it was about 450 acres & 0% contained. 38 was closed, may still be I'm not sure. Not my map, stole it from a local news website:

 

Highway 38 is still closed and much of the southern side of town has been evacuated. Last update I read said that the fire has been fully surrounded with retardant and they are trying to work on containment and squashing spot fires. 700 acres currently.

Bright side: San G campground appears to be safe. This fire will have to make a long crawl downhill to reach it which is very difficult for a fire to do. Now whether or not the camp will get to reopen, I can’t say…

Just got back to the valley from being in the mountains since Saturday. Sucks to hear about the fire. Doesn't look very promising at this point.

 

Radford fire over 1k acres, yes pushing opposite direction but still not contained.
hemet fire now over 20k acres.

we’ll see what the weather does but until then, Plan B in the works unfortunately.

NWS is forecasting 1.5" for the campsite over the next three days, complete with a flood watch. Nature's set to fight it out!
