I wouldn't be surprised at all if they phased those goofy seats out.

Along with Ford, B&O is also in Audi. Boutique BMW and Mercedes I've seen too.

My dealership said they cannot keep the 24 4Runner in stock. People are buying them before the new ones come out. After seeing the vast improvement in the new Tacoma powertrain, the new 4Runner should be amazing.

Vast improvement, oh you mean the TSB for failing transmissions? My service writer said he's already replaced 4 with less than 9k miles all. There's a reason everyone is snatching the last of the 5th gens.

I know you’ve owned your fair share of Tacoma, but after 2 3rd gens, this new engine transmission combo is fantastic. It simply never shifts. Even my 22 Tacoma would gear hunt so horribly, and yes, it was tuned. If you watch the boost gauge on the new ones, when you hit a hill, it doesn’t shift, but the boost goes up.

Yeah, I dearly miss my 3rd Gen gear hunter. Not.

They aren’t making very many, and they are bullet proof.

I bought one of the last 2023 Limited's and paid close to list. I wanted a PRO, but there were none available, only a VERY used '22 in lime green (which I actually really liked). Dealers were not budging on the remaining few, which seemed to be all black! I was going to wait, but was not impressed with the 24 colors, are they the same for 25?

I don't believe Toyota has said a word about MY2025. The Tacomas being built now are still being assigned VIN's that decode to MY2024. Interesting, considering that for decades now, you could be pretty sure that anything made after Q2 would be the model year after the current calendar year.

Not that it really matters what the model year is. That just tends to be a common way for manufacturers to box configurations and such. Things absolutely get changed mid-year. For instance, my mom has an early 2015 Subaru Outback that has the same brakes as the 2014's rather than new config they used on the later ones. I have a 2002 BMW that precedes a facelift that happened about three months after they built it. I used to have a mid-year changed Audi A4 that's commonly referred to as the "1999.5".

if they follow recent tradition - which seems almost certain - terra will be a new standard color, mudbath will be the new pro color, and there will be no other changes to the color lineup.

I’m pretty sure production on the 5th Gen has ceased entirely at this point.

Mostly likely. I’d like to know the last vin so I could compare mine.

Toyota might be doubling down on those seats with the TRD ProRunner concept.

Idiots, who the hell do they survey when they add this crap. Like what serious owners were like yes I want suspension seats, a JBL removable speaker and power tailgate for the "oh so heavy tailgate."

I suspect those are bought entirely by the lifestyle dudes who simply want to seen with the most expensive one. They don’t actually take people anywhere. At least not in the back seats; probably just the occasional Tinder/Grindr date that hasn’t yet figured out exactly how shallow they are sitting in the passenger seat and wondering what the heck they got themselves into. Besides that, it’s a cool tour de force as a halo model, but it’s largely unserious.

I haven’t driven one with those seats, but I think seats that make it impossible to sit behind them unless you or your passenger is built like Cotton Hill are just plain brain damaged.

As for the power tailgate, that’s a serious “cool story, bro; tell it at a party” kind of accessory. If you’re too weak to close the tailgate, you probably need a visit a doctor because you’re too physically frail to do anything with the bed of a pickup, let alone just handle the tailgate. If it makes you happy, whatever, but ain’t nobody need that. I’ve got the counterbalanced tailgate on mine. It’s nice, mostly because I think it’ll reduce the probability that people will open it, lose their grip, and drop it. I don’t love the idea of people trashing my hinges. But, I’ve managed plenty of regular tailgates and never found them to be a problem, even as a small lad.

Just because somebody thinks something is stupid and expresses it doesn’t make them triggered.
