2025 Tacomas

Oh agreed, not discounting the improvements in any way, but just not at my trust yet. Some others are more comfortable with first year risks and that’s ok. My 03 4Runner was a first MY, my 2011 is a 2nd MY. Both have been relatively flawless.
The T24A and 8 speed is a fantastic combo and feels way better than the V6 (1GR in my case). I feel the sluggishness of the V6 every day, especially since my 03 had the V8.

 

I was originally shopping for a 2015, but held off for the better part of a year to take the risk of buying a 2016 in October 2015 - it was literally the first one off the lot from that dealer. Besides a couple minor annoyances and related trips back to the dealer that I would have preferred not to take (where they of course inevitably "could not replicate the issue"), she has been a fantastic truck for over 9 years, and my favorite vehicle I have ever owned.

Here's to hoping I can go 2-for-2!

Is the only expected color change the availability of Terra on non-Pro Tacomas and Mudbath for the Pro? Historically what have they done for color options?

 

yes. this is historically what they always do, along with sometimes discontinuing colors as well. i did see on another forum they are discontinuing solar octane for 2025, but not sure how accurate that is.

 

Solar octane is to be replaced by Terra. Not sure which I like better. Maybe Terra.

 

I can see that, Lunar Rock went from 2020 (Pro exclusive) to 2023. I don't see a whole lot of SO so maybe they cut the cycle short 2 years.

 

Yep. Which is why I said “somehow escaping” cause it made no sense why it would be. Hopefully this is all sorted out when they launch the 4Runner. I can’t imagine they’ll want all TNGA-F vehicles to have nagging issues, big or small, - it’s not a good look.

 

The 4Runner launch should be soon. Inventory on the 2024 4Runner is nearly zero for the Pro and Offroad.

 

I just spoke with my local dealer they were given a timeline that says they’ll be on the ground late Q1 early Q2, which aligns with what we’ve been hearing. They sold their last new 5th gen about a week ago.

 

Seems odd Toyota would have that big of a selling gap.

Yep before we bought my wifes 23 GX460, was looking for a TRD OR premium or Pro in underground and there were like 2 in my 500 mile radius.

 

How do you like the GX?

 

Love it, simple Toyota product, we have the captains chairs which work great for my daughter and wife back there, plenty of cargo space with the 3rd row folded. It reminds me of a luxury roomier 4runner. Been getting 18-20 mpg consistently too from the big old V8, which my wife was concerned about after leaving her 23 RX hybrid. Fit and finish are def noticeable coming from a newer Toyota product.

 

Lunar Rock was the 2021 pro exclusive, available on others for 22. 2020 was Army Green.

 

Yep, Army Green was 2020.

 

I prefer Solar Octane by a mile, but prefer to avoid such bold colors for my own vehicles. 2024s in that color are going to be unicorns now.

 

I talked to the Salesman that I bought my 2024 4runner from he said now 2025's till late Feb or March.
