Chips the size of a refrigerator?

    Bullpucky.

While they've been doing some pretty large silicon dies, max size so far is a bit over 8x8"

Either you misheard or I'd suggest deeply questioning the accuracy of your news source.

My daughter’s rear facing car seat barely fit in the OR seats I tested yes there is less room back there than my 3rd gen I tried and despite what the numbers say the way the seat is designed. And the lack of window it’s pretty cramped feeling back there could only imagine with those stupid f**king seats.

Odd thing to say, when the old Cadillacs and Lincolns were all body on frame with solid rear axle.
Might as well skip the middleman, like the Ford Nucleon

Barely fit... meaning it fit. Rear facing until what 2 years old? Then forward facing until 6 years old. I don't think a 2-6 year old in a child seat would be uncomfortable back there. Or a 6-10 year old without a seat. If you had teens I could see your concern but if you're saying a teen would be comfortable in a 3 or 4g with or without an iso seat, you're not going to get a #1 Dad mug. What lack of window?

The rear window is notably smaller with the stadium seating interior wise as well as the stupid rear windows cause of the plastic piece on the pillar. And it’s weight based so usually older than 2. And yes any other human back there with those stupid seats would not be having a good time as well as they aren’t comfortable according to many (TRD Jon, etc.).

Luxury and transportation don't bode well together it's much more comfortable to sit still. Luxury is an odd concept to begin with even stranger to apply that to transportation. BOF and solid rear axle was all there was back then. I just don't see how leather, power seats and more electronics make for a better drive. What makes people desire a luxury vehicle? Both the wealthly and poor want to drive luxury vehicles I don't get it what does it do for them?

Maybe l did misunderstand what they were describing, i would.normally thinkof chips being something small. Possibly they meant a bank of.chips the size of a fridge.

I get the window thing now. I guess that's why people hate riding in the back of my wife's 4R. Oh wait, they don't.

Not trying to be a dick but when you and TRDJon say iso seats take up a "ton" of room when in fact they it take up a few extra millimeters you do a disservice to those that come to this forum wanting to know about Tacomas. The pictures don't lie. With the seats at the same position the difference in rear seat leg room is negligible (and bad for both). I've never heard anyone say the 4R has too small of a rear window and it's worse? than the new Tacoma. You've stated your opinions and these are mine, with receipts.

I wonder if the 2026 Tacoma will have the new P A D S mandate installed.

The big luxury sedans continued with body-on-frame and solid rear axle into the 1990s lol, when GM and Ford's other cars had been unibody for decades. The additional layer of cushioning between the cab and ladder frame was deemed beneficial for ride comfort.

I can't recall ever riding in any of those luxury vehicles but from what I recall seeing no e of it looked like it rode luxuriously and every thing had those bench seats with absolutely no bolstering what do ever. My Aunt had some kind of Chevy with bucket seats but that was a two door and probably more of a performance model.

Luxury and transportation don't bode well together? Depends on your age, height, and how many knee surgeries you've had. Short flights I'll go Comfort Plus, longer distances I fly first class. Tacomas are still BOF and solid rear axle and have leather(ish) power seats. Best of both worlds.

Midsize platforms seem rather tight for 3rd row action. Obviously if no one is complaining it ain't a problem, I'm just thinking about 12 passenger vans that use to be 15 passenger vans the difference between Transit and Econoline platforms.

I just bought mine last week. Third Tacoma. Couple things that I’d like to see.
    1. Soft open tailgate. Had it on my ‘20. Liked that feature.
    2. Power driver seat standard. Had that as well on my last one.
    3. Hopefully they’ll remake the rear bumper. Make the side panels a little bit bigger to cover the hitch.
That’s all I got. So far anyway. I do like this one over the last two I had.
