I had something happen yesterday. Just paid the truck off, got in it to go to the gym. Went down my drive stopped by the mailbox turned on to my street. Check engine light came on and lost power. I pulled over it was running kind of like it was running out of fuel. Turned it off and it wouldn’t start back up. Opened the hood poked around. Didn’t see anything obvious. Called my wife waited a few minutes. Cranked it over a few times and it fired back up. No check engine light. I called the dealer they said if the check engine light wasn’t on there isn’t much they can do. I ran a code scanner and it had a couple codes. One for multi cylinder misfire and a couple other for random misfires. I thought I saved the codes then reset them. I didn’t actually save the codes.

Now I guess I just have to wait and see if it happens again. I really don’t want to deal with electrical gremlins on a brand new truck. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

There’s a couple trucks this has happened on. I think it was a bad crank position sensor if I remember right. Quick and easy fix.

Crankshaft Position Sensor? thought they ironed that one out though, sounds weird to be happening on a 2019.....

I was looking into it. Seems like that could be the issue. Hope it’s something simple like that. Is there any test for that, or a specific code it throws?

here's the sticky thread from the 3rd Gen section

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2016-2017-tacoma-stalling-risk-recall.494436/

hasn't happened to me, so I haven't looked into it too much.....pretty sure you just bring it to the dealer and they sort it for you under warranty.

    good luck
