Also had a closer encounter with the delta fire up by Lakehead. Holy shit that was crazy.

We were stuck on I5 close to where these trucks burned. Turned around on I5 and cut through the median to get to the north bound lane. Damn flames were burning what looked like 50feet in the air above the trees.
Just glad to be home.

WILDFIRE-RELATED ROADWAY CLOSURES

There are three new wildfire-related closures on Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Route 108 (SR-108).

- Northbound I-5 is CLOSED at Fawndale Road north of Redding in Shasta County with no estimated time of opening (ETO).

- Southbound I-5 is CLOSED at Mott Road, north of Dunsmuir in Siskiyou County with no ETO.

- Eastbound and westbound SR-108 is CLOSED at Kennedy Meadows near Sonora Pass in Tuolumne County, due to wildfire based in the eastern Sierra Nevada near U.S. Highway 395 in Mono County.

- U.S. Route 395 is CLOSED for 30 miles from the junction of SR-182 in Bridgeport to 11 miles south of the junction of SR-89 due to wildfire.

 

Rough season...

 

They say the Delta Fire has been caused by a person. Don't know if it was "accidental" or not but seeing how reckless people get with campfires I wouldn't be surprised if one wasn't put out correctly.
