I think it really depends on your driving style. You mention desert, is that going 60mph on dirt roads or cruising on a Sunday morning?

after looking in my crystal ball. I do see 700# springs in your future.:D

Currently have 265/75/16 but after these tires are done will bump up to 33’s.

As far as desert roads probably between a Sunday drive and 60mph.

i would go with coil overs with a remote res. 700# springs, Kings or Fox front and rear with an leaf pack that can handle the weight like Dakar heavy duty. This is just my opinion.”

The heavy duty will settle closer to 3 inches. My med duties are about 2.5 inches. I think he should do the heavies like your saying. @Papadave418 if your wanting 33’s (like I do) 2.5” might not be enough for you. I plan to run 285’s, and that does require a cab mount chop. I went with Dakar med duty, total chaos uppers, 5100’s on 887’s assembled by Headstrong. The total was around 2k for the entire kit. With 3k your looking at much better coil options. The 5100’s are cheap and I plan to get better coils with resi’s when these are done. I don’t have any complaints about them though, even though I’ve beaten them pretty hard.

I forgot about UCA's TC, Camburg on the high end in cost SPC on the lower end. I'm running SPC right now and have not had any issues with them. I hope to be running TC in the near future. @foxrcing07 :boink:

    Specific to 3rd gen:

Anyone know if you can remove all mounting hardware for the spare?

Say, if someone were to get a HC rear bumper and doesn't want the spare tire to hang lower. ..

this is for a 1gen runner but I would assume it would be the same. sounds like a few bolts to remove.

The goal is to remove the mounting hardware but still store the tire there ... just so it doesn't hang lower than the HC bumper
