Thanks for the feedback, do BAMF skids have access panels for oil changes or do you have to take the whole skid off?

theres an access hole for the drain plug (highly suggest the fumoto valve!!!) but if i recall correctly, 3rd gens have the oil filter cartridge at the bottom of the engine. not sure if theres an access hole for that (if its the same IFS skid as the 2nd gen, then I don't think you can access the filter without removing the skid).

But that access door is also just another thing to get hung up on rocks...

I’d rather have something a bit more structurally sound than the ease of access for a filter change. Well, maybe that’s just me.

Sounds great. Why not buy it? Is it because you know it’s sub par to BAMF? You wanna know one of the many reasons why it’s sub par to BAMF? Because BAMf doesn't have a huge hole in it compromising its structural integrity. Oh, and it’s much thinner material. But wait, there’s more! It’s also not structurally gusseted properly to take continued impacts that would allow the entire weight of the truck to rest on it. I’ve had RCI armor. It’s okay if you don’t beat on it ie, use it for what it’s intended.

    /rant off.

Get the good shit and take it off every 5k to do your oil change for an hour and then put it back on. While off inspect everything down there visually that you loose line of sight too with any brand of skid. We are lucky that we get to buy the best, support local business, and not pay shipping cost for heavy shit.

So since my bumper is officially in the works (pre-ordered actually) I'm going to need a 30" light bar and some square fogs. Any recommendations for any particular brands to check out and or stay away from? Opinions on white vs amber fogs? Anything else I should be aware of?

@Sharkfrog I’m going with Baja Designs S8 led light bar and Baja Designs Squadron Pro fogs in wide cornering. Ive been talking to a lighting vender here on TW and learned a lot. If you want to speak with him, let me know.

Amber is great for depth in the snow. It’s also recommended in the fog. I have the Baja Designs Amber fogs in my Bumper. They are the squadron sport kit that was designed to fit the factory bumper. The cutoff is excellent and they plug right into the factory electrical harness. I also have a set with the clear lense that I never used on my old bumper. I am assuming you went with a BAMF bumper. I also use an IggyCorp single row 30” lightbar. Fits perfect with my Warn Xeon 10-S winch. Great combo.

They are but in terms of performance, I can see the value. This diagram will help explain the lighting zones and some of the different lighting options that are offered. The wide cornering fogs light zones 1 and 2, while the LED bar will light zone 3.

Also consider if you wanted to run these into oncoming traffic, that would be a dick move. They are not dot approved. There is a newly released dot model but it doesn’t perform as well, I don’t think. 102F16E3-11A8-4BA5-B175-FE9D4BDED0EE.jpg

I can’t remember who gave me input about batteries but I installed a larger group 31m AGM X2 battery to give more more off grid time, used CBI’s battery tray. 0910404B-BABA-4551-9512-E2FF4D664868.jpgD3D4C352-5986-47F8-BDDE-191C699158A7.jpg
