Don’t do it... try and stick to a 7k regimen. Unless you are using European Market petroleum products.

Having a hole for oil filter access would be really easy to engineer around.

Otherwise I have no opinion. I’m using 1/4” steel for my home made skids.

I would agree with this normally but black stone says I could go 15k.

I draw the line at what Toyota recommends.

    Go for it then!

Personally, I think the 10k oil change regimen is bunk. The more often you are under the hood and inspecting things, the longer lifespan things like hoses and plastic wire loom clips/pins/brackets have. Ever been under the hood of a dealer maintained BMW/Mercedes? It sucks to see all the plastic shit cracked and heat split. While I realize a Toyota will be the obvious choice for superiority in simplistic engineering, they are still filling the engine bays with plastic everything now. A more thorough vehicle inspection and maintenance regimen will most certainly lengthen the lifespan. My wife’s Lexus GX a 10k service vehicle that I have reprogrammed the service schedule to trip the light at 7k. Also, read the owners manual and take a looksee at what a “heavy use” maintenance schedule is. If you ever use 4x4 you will see Toyota recommends an earlier service schedule. I don’t want you to think I’m am arguing with you here. I just want to help point out a few things most might not know. All data is good data.

I rotate my tires at 5k. Which is when I usually check that stuff out. As far as 4x4 the motor doesn’t care. It spins regardless.

I have already swapped both my diff oil and getting ready to do my tcase. I use amsoil for that. I’m just shy of 40k. Undecided on the tranny so far.

I understand what you’re saying though. I’ve never done more than 3k mike on the dozen plus cars I’ve owned until this one. We’ll see.

yeah, i will only run Amazon leds lol. 2 pods for ditch lights, 2 pods off the rear of roof rack and a 25" bar in the front bumper. plenty of light for what i use them for and dont hurt the wallet. going on about 3.5 years now with amazon lights and no real issues. had a set of the ditch lights stolen a while back, went on amazon, dropped another $25 and had new ones on within a week lol

Well, I think @Pickeledpigsfeet and I have a plan on the Supercharger.

I need someone with a 1st Gen with skids to drop by so @Pella and I can get some measurements to Chinese Engineer some skids. (@FirstTimeFirstGen has a set of skids that would be very good for this proceedure) :boink:

Made breakfast for my son’s 21st. Not pictured is the eggs, sausage, and pancakes. You can’t drink all day if you don’t start first thing in the morning.
I was going to take care of the DV scrapes n stuff on the sliders and cross members, but the forecast is for nasty this afternoon.

I am definitely expecting some power outages. I saw a ton of 2wd cars up at the cabins in Pinecrest yesterday. I bet the drive down the hill on 108 will be interesting.
