209 TACOS - B/S and shenanigans

This winter hasn’t been kind to the dead and dying trees in that area.

 

Definately duely noted. Was already thinking I need to get a chainsaw. Working out details with a guy to procure a lightly used, good condition, Stihl MS 250... should be good to go by the weekend

FYI... The route I have mapped out... I have only ever been on maybe 15% of the roads.

Part of the reason I'm looking to do this route (personally) is to scout new roads and road conditions for new areas this hunting season... also, I like to try and get lost in the woods.

It's still early in the season. We could encounter mud, downed trees, washed out roads, fallen rocks, and creek crossings as well. (@Pella and I found a washed out road on Saturday and come to find out that road has been closed for 3 years. But we found an alternate route)

I'd like to think all of you that know me, know I'm laid back and easy going. If we encounter an obstical someone can't navigate (or don't feel comfortable navigating) we can turn around and find another way... no one is going to talk shit.

Whoever goes up with us sticks together, unless we make it to a paved road and they are comfortable rolling back out to the main highway because they have to peel off and get back home etc.

@Pella, robert, and I had a blast doing 1/2 of that distance on Saturday... and we got a hella late start cause I had to get my truck smogged before we left.

(paid my registration back in March, but forgot I had to smog this year )

 

Starting to look like Sunday is the better day for most.

I think you and @Anderson said Sunday... @Sharkfrog needs to just bail on his other plans and come with us. @Pella needs to change his engine, TC and diff oil... and wash his hair and get his nails did, or some shit... he can do that Saturday so he has no way to bail on us Sunday.

Draw a tag? Didn't put in for CA this year, but may go for an OTC Elk tag in Utah when I'm out roaming about this fall.

Draw results aren't in yet. But I'll be hunting D6 (the area we'll be exploring Sunday) regardless. Even if my wife or I draw a premium zone, the other will have a D6 tag. If one of us draw premium the other will have a bear tag so we can hunt together.

Anyone know a spot I can park a camp trailer near or in Modesto? Dad has a stroke and is in NICU at Doctors. I need a place to house my mom nearer him than her house up the hill. It’s a brand new trailer and is nice looking.
