Well... the 209 has been fricken booooooring lately. Here's a chance ta do some shit

Well @siznarf looks like we got things hoppin in the 209. Everyone seems to be busy doin all kinds of stuff now...

How’d it go today?

 

Went pretty good. We're pretty much done with the tear down on the water pump and timing belt... also started the tear down on the valve cover gaskets.





Had problems with the hydraulic tansioner bolt. The back bolt (the hard one to get to) broke the head off. We had to burn a couple hours looking for an extractor to get it out. Went to Ace, then Lowes, the O'reillys, then Home Depot... we finally found one at HD that worked.

We had to order a tool to hold the damn Camshaft pulleys, I can't remember how we routed the belt to hold it in place when I did mine. @foxrcing07 came up with that idea and I can't for the life of me remember how we did it.

The TB / WP is aaaaalllllmost ready to just go back together though.

We'll keep working on the valve covers tomorrow and hopefully get the TB / WP done tomorrow.

... except... we'll need to replace the upper outlet water neck (the one on top, not the one with the thermostat)... because I managed to break the one on the truck, cause I'm a fucking dumbass.
