BTW Sharkfrog, I grew up in Modesto, Carpenter and Paradise Area, so I figured the 209 thread would be the place to ask Stanislaus Forest questions. I’m in Concord in the East Bay now.

I’ve seen toy haulers back in the first few spots in long valley, a tent trailer should be able to make it.

When I went out with Matt and Jason a few weeks ago we went through what looked to be a popular shooting spot near Tuolumne. There was quite a few people shooting there. 2N07 I think, and not very far out.

    Hey MattJakobs

Nice to see another Off Roader in the Bay. Maybe we can plan a trip, but I’m bone stock for now. Looking at sliders and skids as my first upgrade before I attempt any more advanced trails.

I used to go out to warnerville road near Cooperstown but I don’t think you can shoot out there any more.

I'm not sure where that mine is. There is a really big wide spot in the road and a bare dirt hillside. You really can't miss it.

that spot is patrolled by FS LEO on a weekly basis, so make sure your ar is 100% compliant as FS LEOs are the most likely to seize them as they dont keep up with the laws. I carry the flow sheet with me if I am going to be in spots like that. I have had face to face discussions with them asking to see my firearms everytime I see one there.

There's a few on ebay for stupid prices, but I have not found any reasonably priced ones yet (closest was $59 + $22 shipping for well used cans). I saw in the express thread someone was coming from BC and wished that I had seen his post earlier as I could have had him bring some new ones down, and I bugged @Twizted since he's poking around up there, but sadly the border is closed due to COVID. I think we're just going to have to take a road trip when things settle down.

I've got those two 3.5 gallon rotopax that I think I'm going to use until I can either find a decent deal or get up there myself.
