We got a late start and didn't get to explore much. We will be going back for more.

I recognize that tree they cut that looks like a “T”, to funny...did you make it all the way out paper cabin? We turned around before the cabin, tree across the road and didn’t want to scratch up the truck to much on the bypass.

We were running out of daylight and had to turn around. We took the bypasses around the lumber. Is the cabin at the top of the hill?
This was my first trip with thr snorkel. I had a few oh shit moments.

Haven’t made it there myself, but I here it’s about 3/4’s of the way out Paper Cabin Ridge. 37.919737, -120.226990 should be close, I think Past the mine in my previous post.

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
Does anyone have a reputable shop that they recommend for engine work? Since this isn’t my daily, I can leave it at the shop for as long as I need. Found out the culprit of my engine misfire and want to get some quotes from some shops to entertain the idea of repairing it versus parting it out.

I already emailed Yota1Performance to see what they think but am open to hearing about more places.

Already sold my kings/spcs and other front end components that I bought in anticipation for the new year which sucks but meh...priorities.

If I were going to leave my truck at a shop, Yota1 is where I would leave it.

I love Usal Beach this time of year, no one was there most of the day. If you’ve never been it’s a great winter destination. It’s an easy forest road in but it’s gorgeous. Last weekend a storm was rolling through so I knew it was a perfect chance to get away from people. :)

3NO1 south of Cottonwood is open. North of cottonwood (or south of 108) is closed as of 12/15. That whole section of FS closes on that date.

In other news I finally pulled my driveline and the ball joint thing in the double cardon joint is toast.

Damn. Did you ever grease that thing? lol

Since I got mine put back in most of my vibrations are gone. That and my tires where at 10PSI when I went on the test drive. I didn't realize it until I got back home. Turns out 75 MPH and 10 PSI go well together. lol

Haha. No grease from me... although maybe I should keep an eye on that.

Only put maybe 500miles on the rig since I got it three years ago.

Driveline guy I called recommended 1350 ujoint cv. Which means a new flange for my tcase. Thinking about it. Probably better than being here in 6 months again.

I’ll have to try the 10psi trick. My tire still don’t flex at all so maybe heating them up will help!

1350's have an max angle of 20 degrees. That's a lot less then the 30 degrees from the 1310's. If you want strength and never having to worry about driveline bind the 1410's are the way to go. If your drive shaft guy is recommending 1350s I'd make sure he's cycled the rig to look at the DS angle. Lots and lots of people run them without issue though.

Yeah true, I was just talking to my brother and he echoed what you said.

I think I’m going to call Tom Woods and see what they have to say.

My rear driveline is only 22” long and has a steep down angle with a small side angle to the 14 bolt rear end (pinion apparently is offset on this axle) so I need something that can handle those angles and not blow up.
