209 TACOS - B/S and shenanigans

Ok... so I got the rear axle situated yesterday. And now get this in my inbox this morning.

Now this is getting exciting

 

No other footage. I was having lunch and a ton of rigs went by, and then the golf cart. I was so stunned I just watched and laughed. The footage I posed was the golf cart coming back after encountering the next obstacle. I heard the music was ready to record the video.

 

They are local guys. Good guys, a little rowdy. Niagra is such a small spot that you have to get inventive to have some fun, especially when you are there every weekend.

 

Going to the dunes in Oregon soon so I needed a flag. Inspired by @TacoJohn4x4

I made a bracket out of some scrap angle aluminum.

 

Pulled the 3rd member out of the axle. It is, in fact, 5.29.

And now it's ready to find it's new home in my original axle housing this weekend.

Should be cooler this weekend too




Side note... sliced the fuck out of the bottom of my foot stumbing around because of THIS FUCKING SUBARU

No need to worry now. It's stamped 529. Everything looks good inside. Oil had a glittery sheen to it, but exactly what would be expected with a recently changed ring and pinion.

 

Alright... who else is going to this Tacomapowered thing on Saturday?

Trying to decide. Not sure if my front diff is going to be here. But the rear 3rd is ready to be swapped.

I also need to finish pressing the bearings/hubs in the spindles.

If a bunch of my buds are going I'll put shit on hold, and go. If there is no convoy, I'm working on the truck.

 

It looks like we are spending the weekend in Tahoe and picking up a bumper and leafsprings for @rob1208 .Mod day next weekend? I'd love to help with the swap.
