Not sure we should talk about fires... don't want to offend anyone or their delicate sensibilities.

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
was debating on whether or not I should say anything but kept it as surface level as possible :ballchain:

Bought a DoggoRamp from Desert Armor. We'll see how it works out.

Bailey went up and down, no problem on the test run.

Definitely headed up this week to check it out now. I don’t remember any real high clearance sections needed (not saying it’s not needed) just that I only clicked it to 4wd once and I don’t think it was necessary.
Also as a caveat for anyone reading my posts. I answered Matt based off me wheeling with him and knowing his and his truck levels capabilities. It should be an easy drive for him. I generally won’t answer people who ask how hard a trail is because there’s too many variables that I don’t know without ever wheeling with you.

Also went to change my rotor but…

I got rock autoed. It was on clearance for $3 so no big loss.

I’ll just go to the parts store and get the correct one later.

I don’t like to tell people how hard or easy something is either unless its just a graded road. I don’t generally like telling people about places up here too much either. You never know peoples comfort levels, or if they’re gonna do dumb shit. I have a feeling I drove by you guys on your way back to Sonora as I was heading over the pass to not go backpacking.

If anyone wants to hit the dirt in the next couple days Id appreciate the company, if not, this is the internet so I get it.

#nDub, I assume you are evacuated? Need anything? We think there is a good chance that my brother lost his house. He is right at the epicenter.

Oh man I hope not. Brian?

We haven’t been evacuated at this point. We’re up by the greenly cemetery.

Forest Order STF-2021-16-12 Fire and Target Shooting Restrictions
    Date(s): Aug 25, 2021

The Stanislaus National Forest has issued a Forest Order to enhance fire restrictions and prohibit recreational target shooting effective August 26, 2021. No wood or charcoal fires will be allowed anywhere on the forest including all forest campgrounds, developed sites, and wilderness areas. Recreational target shooting will be prohibited but lawful hunting will continue to be allowed on the forest.

These restrictions are temporary and will be in effect from August 26, 2021, through December 31, 2021. Restrictions may terminate sooner depending upon weather and fire conditions.

The Forest Order and map are available here.

And just like that they are letting us back in. I know a couple people who have lost their homes to this fire and unfortunately have several members of my family who have lost theirs in past fires. Unfortunately this is just normal for me at this point. Annnnd I’m hearing from several people that it was intentionally set.
