COUNT ME IN , should we take walkie talkies to keep radio contact? Small propane grill ? It takes 2hr 45min to get their by road . Does anyone know how long does it take thru back roads?

    I am probably out.

Got a dent in my oil pan and i wanna swap it out and put some skids on.

The dent is minor, but my ocd/anxiety says otherwise.

Time to go buy a "micro tourqe wrench" and some gasket maker. Wish me luck lol

A small dent in your oil pan, seriously, is not going to cause a big problem. And you don't need skids or anything for the roads back to relief res.

You should really, not worry about it and come with us

Rolling from 108, through Niagra, Eagle, Long Valley takes at least 45 minutes. I'm not sure, cause I've only been back to Long Valley, which is right at a fork back there. Left takes you to Relief Res (but, I've never gone that way... been meaning to, but never have.)

There's a huge Juniper tree back there too. They have a dude that lives in a shack guarding it during the summer... something like 2000 years old or some shit.

@Twizted is explaining the same to me, that the dent is so small it couldnt possibly hurt anything and i should not replace it.

But the stories of oil starvation scare me, god forbid my tacoma not last half a million miles lol

The ocd is real... I need to start smoking pot again and send it lol

I'd say Niagra/Eagle campground turn off is about 20 minutes up the hill from Strawberry. Then the road back to the back side of relief res is at least another 45 minutes with the speed we'll be going and all the dust.

Absolutely, positively, impossible for that small dent to starve your engine of oil.

Seriously @Motofox There's guys in this forum that run their shit HARD offroad... their skids look like chewed up milk bones and their oil pans look like they were beaten with a ball peen hammer... that's the god's honest truth.

@Motofox... whatch this... I'm going to play a Jedi Mind Trick on you (but this is the truth)

We'll use your OCD against you.

That dent wont cause you any problems. What WILL cause problems is replacing that pan. Right now the pan is factory sealed to your block. If you fuck up the gasket, you'll cause yourself an oil leak... which is more apt to cause you problems than that little dent.

I was camping up towards Cherry Lake this past Friday through Sunday and were getting ashed on. We weren’t affected by the smoke but it was blocking the sun. It looks like it’s only 5% contained. Relief res is pretty far from the fire but not sure if we would see smoke up there. Hopefully not.

So... do we have an updated head count? And who will be at Riverbank vs Sonora? I don't want to "leave a man behind" in Riverbank thinking they'll be in Sonora.
