Some people are looking for that corner office with a view.

I kind of don't mind the view from my desk out of a garage roll up door.

It is Gen specific, I think by the time you worked to fab up usable mounts you would be better off getting new with the lifetime warranty just my $.02

Well that sucks. But you're totally right, dicking with it would be counter productive.

But am I on to something @foxrcing07?

A set of Firestone bags would let me ditch the rock catcher springs for trail articulation, I could run with them basically empty for that purpose. But then if I'm loaded down for camping/hunting they would keep me level with the added weight.

**edit** lol, I think that's kind of the entire point of those bags if I'm not totally off.

Lets continue this quote train lol

I don't mind having it be in Modesto, Manteca, Stockton, or anything lol OR if @510to209Taco wants to hold em until that mini mod day that works too. Either/or works fine with me.

    Sooooooo

Looking at getting some UCAs. I've done some reading on the subject and thought I would pick the 209ers brains and get their experience with the UCAs they're running. I have the Toytec Boss 2.0 Coilovers set at 2.5" of lift. Thinking that some UCAs would be a good next step to get better alignment numbers with the coilovers I'm running now and anything else I do with the front end suspension in the future. Not adverse to finding something used but also know that there have been some tech updates to some of these UCAs so don't want to deal with issues that have been resolved with newer updates.

    Anyways.....thanks in advance!

Sounds good I work down in Sonora out of a "rent-a-desk" office and can come grab them whenever. What time you off work?

Tricky question, I work a lot of OT and it’s usually based on how my machines run that day. I’m scheduled to be off at 4pm this week, home by 4:30.

Do you have a preference of uniball or ball joint?

yes and no load bags have the potential to limit both up travel (the bag would act like a rubber band limiting strap) and down travel (the bag would act like a bump stop) but within the range of the bag (and your shocks) it would be beneficial

in most cases your shocks will be the true limiting factor

look at this post of a set installed

As long as the "wet" weather season up here isn't going to be an issue I would go Uniball.

I have uniball. I don’t see an issue given where we live. I’ll talk to about it when I see you. In the lower elevation areas they just sand the roads, no salt

Depends on if you can handle the inevitable squeeks that come with uniballs. I have run TC UCAs on a Taco, Tundra, and a Fj and they all ended up squeeking even when being anal about cleaning and using dry lube. So Now I have about 80k on a set of SPC arms and quiet as a mouse and no issues. Driven them to Alaska a couple times and the East Coast. I prefer my squeeks to let me know of impending failure, not just a normal characteristic of a working part.

We salted this year up 108 from monoway to pinecrest. Its a new slurry mixture but it had salt in it.

Should mention it was just a test run and not for sure it will happen again this year.

    Local news about it:

Yeah, I knew about the test run. Wasn’t sure if it was gonna be permanent, I’ve heard conflicting stories on it. It was our sand so I’m sure I’ll know come winter time

I have had zero squeaks with my uniballs (2 years) but it’s definitely a common complaint

The are defintely stronger than the SPC arms too, that said I havent had any issues with any of either arms failing. But if i was going to be prerunning for a race I would only run uniball UCas and LCAs

So... @roguegs @Pella (and who ever else wants to be involved) When do we want to do this mod day? I want to make sure I have the garage cleared out for plenty of space.

I do not care when we do it, just want to know so I can plan.

And plus I'm excited about it and want to know what day I get to look forward to
