Have you sent pics to Domello to see if they'll claim the fab?
Maybe they have more info, or at least opinions about the 3-wall welds, or at least be able to tell you if they've ever offered weld-on "rock crushers."

TBH though, the rock sliding/crushing act puts force on the bottom of the armor, pushing upwards. As long as the non-welded top portion of the pipes makes contact with the plates, the bottom welds should be the most important. I'm no welder, but maybe others could chime in on the strength impacts of such a design.

 

I would think this would be correct. @Motofox are you sure that you heard the actual slider/frame creaking or was it something else?

Also on a side note - the 3rd gen suspension gives a 2nd gen a 1 inch lift. I have the front and rears sitting in my garage if you were interested.

 

Its not where the "legs" meet the plate but where the "legs" meet the main tube. Imo it leaves room for flex, putting exrta strain on the bottom weld, but im no metallurgist.

I should ask demello... @Radarninja suggested they were cut and repositioned to give the rocker panel pinch weld extra room when he took a look at em

Thats what i read, and i indeed think my original owner installed spacer lift is only a 1" (i measured the spacer and it was about 1/2")

How many miles are on them and how much you want for them bad boys

 

I took em off at the mod day and that was at maybe around 30K miles? $60? to pay for a tank of gas lol

 

Lol alright, better than my 60k oem SR5 stuff. Will do some homework to confirm lift height. (Double check my current setup vs oem OR setup)

I've got some OEM leaf packs w/35k on 'em, and possibly some 1.5" blocks (if the Bronco doesn't take 'em)...

I have the Icon AAL in the rear with the overload removed so I'm good to go

 

I have an AAL in the rear already.

Id only be swapping rear shocks for a softer ride?

Fronts im thinking would be a swap over because it would retain my 1" lift (assuming thats what i have right now) while giving me a softer/mo betta ride.

 

If i swapped the spacer with the 3rd gen fronts id have some wicked brolean going on lol

Ok... so I said today was going to be a less than profuctive work day spent creating a spreadsheet on my 4x swap.

Yellow highlight indicates parts I already have. The rest is what I need.

- I'm almost 100% that I will be going with a new transmission instead of one of unknown history.
- I would like to do some kind of locker in front but don't want to shell out the cash for ARB front and rear. I'm trying to think of a cost effective front and just keep my E-lock rear. (Spartan locker from Yotashop?)
- Interested in dual TC -- (Trail creeper) don't know enough about it to know what I don't know.

Anyone have any advise or comments?

Thinking about starting a 4x swap thread of my own to get a discussion going on this. And if any of the craigslist magicians @roguegs @foxrcing07 if you see any deals on these items let me know.

That would be a devestating turn of events

 

She already does know about the 4x conversion and has given approval. It's just that I may accidently get a little more ahead of it than the schedule she is on for it.

Close... I might be able to get the front drive shaft off that first one. I don't think I can use anything else. Both off those have ADD 4x4 (I'm doing manual) so I don't think the Transfer cases will even work.
