I like your inspector. Ensuring only quality parts and craftsmanship goes into the big rig.

Did/can you strap a camera to that thing and use it to really peer under there?

I'm sure it could be done but I haven't done it. Truck already has 2 batteries to tap off of 1 for motor and another for lighting.

New 3" wide body for this winters overland build. Comparing fenders. Rears are not as noticeable as the fronts unless you look close. Not modding this truck but building entirely new.

Got started a little this weekend on the wide body. Mostly trimming, sanding and fitting before I remove/fill all the printer lines. As you can see in the pic, the surface is actually really rough so its time consuming.

Wow that’s pretty neat but a lot of time and patience. I just bought a trx4 defender last week and was so impressed bought the g500 for my 7yo son. Buying little parts and stuff but building from scratch and even making the body is pretty cool.
I have a brushless slash 4x4 too those are fun.

They are a lot of work but started doing it last year to give me something to do during the rainy/snowy months. Never had an RC before and the first one was for display. So I bought a Traxxas URD to play with. Just have to learn how to drive. This one will be for actual rock crawling. They are a lot of fun but can get spendy.

Why not have these printed in resin? It'd be much smoother.

Big difference. I know he's working on it but this is what I have. Sure would save a lot of work.

Yeah, there are definitely benefits to either side as well as cons. FDM printing is much cheaper for example. Though the costs are going down over time. Resin parts require more prep time on the manufacturing side, as once finished on the printer, they have to be cleaned and set for extra curing time. Then you need to remove supports and then sand the spots where they were. The finished part though won't have the FDM ridges though. But some high quality (or highly tuned) FDM printers can print very finely and can almost do away with them.

I want to that, but it wouldn't turn out nearly as nice. Your first build helped me over the edge with an SCT though. Nice Slash in the background.
