20x12 rims

So i have been told the biggest rim I can put on my stock tacoma sr5 4 wheel drive is a 20. Im looking at a set of pro comp 20x12 could I clear them with 265?

 

x12?!?! That is crazy wide, as in much wider than a 265 and would not mount. Ideal is about 8" wide, some go up to 9". A 265 is only 10" wide.

 

Don't do it. It's not a Silverado it's a Tacoma.

265 on a 12? Are you gonna lower it with those stretched tires?

Good luck getting a 265 mounted to a 12" wide wheel

 

To each there own I guess. I would be concerned about rolling the bead off the wheel going that wide. I am sure plenty of people have done it but this is probably not the best forum to get an honest answer. Look some of the HI guys up. I am sure they will be more helpful. Good luck and keep in mind the stress you are putting on the wheel bearings.

 

Look up your tire on the manuf. data page.

For any given size tire it will show minimum, optimum and maximum wheel widths.
