20x12 will they fit on 3rd generation trd sport?

So I have a question they recently opened a 4 wheel parts near me and they had a raffle of $1000 dollars for the grand opening. I happened to win that prize and I'm planning on lifting my 2017 trd sport with wheel dimensions 20x12 and 6" lift but they started saying I wouldn't fit does wheels on a 6" lift. Ive seen plenty of trucks with that dimension. So I ended up getting 20x10 motometals 962. I really want the wide wheel look. So if someone can tell me if they have does wheel size on their truck and if any other modifications was done to the truck for the wheels to fit and return the wheels and get wider ones.
