Been thinking about a taco for a long time and old ride just bit the bullet.

    current options…

21 Off Road with ~22k miles (sec fav color)

22 off road with ~33k miles (favorite color option)

    both around $40k

or wait a little for a new 23 close to the same price…probably the better option but not sure I can be rideless for up to two months.

    thoughts???

    Oh look, another mod....

I think it's your money and you should spend it how you want to. Don't let random people on the internet make a major financial decision for you.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
23s are already available. Use the tacomaworld spreadsheet. You will have your truck Monday. But you will have to fly to it, drive it home. That's how most us get our exact trucks today.

my buddy just got a DCSB TRD OR automatic slightly below msrp in under 7 days from contacting the dealer.
It was either allocated unspoken for or someone backed out.
He paid $43.300 OTD (tax here caps at $500).
He got led headlights, phone cable pkg, bed cover, floor mats, led interior lights, clear paint protection- door and hood pkg,

The guy just wants to talk truck. Why not just give him your opinion?

    For 40k, new.

Zero extra money for no miles on the clock, a full warranty and a full point on the finance rate.

    That's a no brainer.

If it was me I'd wait for the 23. Get color and options you want. 0 and full warranty instead of ~33k miles. Rent something cheap to tide you over.

The Frontier is to a taco what the J20 is to the F35B.... a simple, less capable knock off.

Too much money for used I don't care what any of these fanboy goofballs will say on here lol.

A couple of the local dealers near me had new 22 offroads for 38-39 which to me is still "too much" but at least it's new vs a used one. As 23 gets closer I bet there will be some better deals on 22 year models as well.

Also if you buy a white one...see you soon!

With used Tacoma prices this insane I waited and bought new, but I had all the time I needed and a spare vehicle for the 5 month wait. You have to do what is best for you, but damn man paying 40k for used when new is 42 would sting like a bitch!

The Frontier might be counterfeit but at least it's available in a reasonable shade of green.

I don't really like Nissan tacticool green.
