If you are unsure what you truck will like best, I would suggest looking for any wheels you can find with camo print on them. Those are sure to be suited for a 4x4.

I would shy away from 22's as well. I bought my truck used with a set of 22" chrome rims on it and I would say that I bought it even though it had the rims on it.

If you are really dead set on putting 22's on there, you will definitely need a spacer so that they won't rub, but I have to agree with most of the other posts that in a 4X4 application you (and your truck) will probably be happier with a set of 17's.

Just my $.04 worth (you know, inflation and getting ready to pay for health care reform and all).

BTW, I yanked those 22's of and put the stock rims and tires back on two days after I bought the truck.

I know plenty of people with 22's on their trucks and the trucks look clean as hell! I didnt know there was a rule on what you can or can not do.
In fact, I think if it was able to be done, without cutting and other work, I would love to see someone do 26's.

If you got 22 foose rims with brand new tires for $500 thats a steal.....you can go to a shop and bore out the center to make it hub centric. Here's my street queen with 20's on it.

Also the higher rim width you go, the more important the quality of tire you need. I know your tires are new, but when you need replacements, i would recommend Toyo's

I can't believe everyone is busting your balls so bad! "You have to do like we do." "You must not think outside the box." I'm putting chrome 22's on my truck in a few weeks. When it's beat up, scratched, and dented, I will use it as a 4 x 4.

Regardless of wheel size... the wheels must be 6 lug with a 5.5 lug pattern. Ideally they should be "hub centric" and designed for a 106mm hub.

Keep in mind the bigger the wheel size the smaller the tire's sidewall. That means stiffer ride and less tire to absorb contact with objects run over on the road. Also means higher tire cost in many cases. And might also mean buying "performance" size tires which typically cost more and have reduced tread wear life ratings.

LOL I read every page before I realized this is a thread from 2010.
