22' Tacoma missing parts from factory

Makes sense. If the dealer prints the window sticker and I assume they do?

 

Not sure if the manufacturer or distributor does, but I believe that by the time the vehicle shows up at the dealer the sticker is already on there.

 

This is tough one. You paid the right price for the package; it was just misrepresented what came with the package. I'd be mad too and can't fault OP for thinking he'd get the sub. I think a fair outcome is Toyota/dealer reimbursing you a reasonable amount to have a sub installed (kicker hideaway is a good choice!).

Do they have to? No. But it would be a good comprise, to me at least, for all involved.

 

Meanwhile I'm excited to just learn my 6MT on order won't have the JBL radio.

 

If the dealer refuses to give reasonable compensation, OP can claim the entire truck was misrepresented and push for a return in totality. It could be argued that an entirely different truck, with an entirely different set of options, from (most importantly) an entirely different dealer would have been purchased had the truck been accurately described.

You can't sell one thing, deliver another, and then tell the buyer to fu*k off... I don't understand why some people lack such basic comprehension of consumer protections and just generally good business practice.

It would be stupid for the OP to pursue because he would likely only get a $10 gift card out of the settlement. Class action suits require multiple people to be involved and in reality, only benefit the law firm that is presenting the claim make money. I'm guessing the OP is thinking that there will be others to join in, but his challenge is finding a firm to take it. They have to see real money like the firm that brought the class action against lawnmower engines for over stating horsepower ratings. Let's be honest, there are not nearly as many people that have a M/T Tacoma with the premium package. Good luck getting support.

 

Is the OEM subwoofer something that can be installed after the fact? Maybe an offer to install it free of additional charge would be a potential solution.

 

I dont think the JBL speakers are compatible with the head unit, not sure about the sub though.

 

Most of us MT guys know that premium audio is not JBL lol.

I'm sure he did as well, but thinks he can get something over on Toyota. I can't say I blame him, but these big companies usually protect themselves with statements claiming that they are not responsible for misprints or other human errors. I had a similar issue years ago with a 4 runner that the sales info said that it had mirrors in the sun visor. It even showed them in images. Mine had plain sun visors. I complained to Toyota. They pointed to their policy. I complained some more and they eventually replaced them. An amp and speakers are a bit more of an ask.

 

Holy shit the hypocrisy. In one paragraph you accused the guy of lying and then went on to describe how you yourself pursued having the exact same situation resolved.

If we're gonna do a class action, I want to file one against Tacoma World. This site consistently encourages me to buy stuff for my truck that I do not need.
