I was thinking to bring it in to several dealerships to have service put on missing port items, 4 or 5 pound sands could equal a lemon. :boink:

It was more than that, the OP was threatening everyone and anyone he could think of. Did you not see where he filed a complaint with a State agency threatening the dealers business license?

He then went on to threaten Corporate Toyota if they didn't give in to his demands.

And now he's sitting by the phone wondering why no lawyer is returning his phone calls. Just think of all the free money those lawyers are missing out on.

There is a huge difference between intentional false advertising and an option code description that varies between models.

Hope the OP never buys a convertible car as he might be disappointed that the overhead console mentioned on the Monroney label isn't actually on the vehicle.

Maybe I should start a class action lawsuit as my Monroney label shows a manual transmission as standard equipment. Although my truck is an automatic trans model where is the manual transmission that I paid for? I checked the bed of the truck and its not there. I'm calling Toyota in the morning and demand they ship me a manual transmission.

I didn't read the whole 6 pages but Monroney sticker is considered a legal document. Everything that is listed there should be installed/provided on the vehicle. There must be many others with the same problem. Class action is the right way to go, IMO.

Yeahhhhh, I'd just work with the dealer or Toyota for a cut check or some speakers....because a class action (are there multiple people even?) Won't get you anything of value here.

Is the window sticker considered adverstising? Its the discription of vehicle features accompanied by the suggested price from the manufacturer.

What if something isn't listed but its there.

I bought a vehicle that I thought had heated mirrors. I later checked the lable nowhere did it say heated mirrors, and there was no button for heated mirrors. When the rear defroster is activated the mirrors cleared up as well.

What are you gonna do? Sue Toyota to take it back? With all the seriousness, if it's listed it must be provided, period. When VW had camera shortage back in 2012 they had to modify all of the Monroney stickers on all of the effected models and adjust the prices accordingly. Toyota apparently decided not to bother. Got to keep them honest otherwise it can get out of hands.

Funny thing is though that Toyota did not get anything over on the OP, not even for $1. He paid the correct price for the options installed on the truck in his possession. The window sticker has a few wrong words but the pricing is right.

yes, and the OP is thinking he'll get some massive payout. You guys are right, most he'll get is ~$700 which seems fair.

Just have to LOL at all the armchair lawyers in here.

@ANDYP , you mentioned filing a complaint with the dealer’s commission which is a good idea. Also file a complaint with your state’s attorney general’s office. Most of them have a consumer protection division and at least in Arizona they literally investigate every last complaint. Frequently these complaints result in the AG’s office brokering a settlement between the consumer and the business. They even prepare the settlement docs, arrange for signatures, confirm settlement compensation/consideration, etc.

Don’t let these clowns get to you. You paid for what is on that sticker. Go get what’s yours.

Jesus Christ, lawsuits and threats and demands... it's a typo on the sticker, not some sort of Toyota conspiracy to screw the public. Someone had keyed in the incorrect option code more than likely. I've not heard of other reports of this happening so it's surely an isolated event. They can't put a JBL system in that truck, the wiring is not there to support it. Call the dealership out on it, take the price paid for the A/T package with JBL, subtract the price he should have paid for the M/T package without it, dealership refunds the difference and there you go. You've now paid the correct price for what was received. The dealer should have caught it when they took delivery from the manufacturer, but reading every line on a window sticker for every vehicle that comes in is not a realistic expectation IMO.

He did pay the correct price to start with for a MT so its not like he was even overcharged, simply a typo on the sticker.

Somehow I missed the part where he got all threatening and intimidating, that's not going to help anyone.

Based on the other occurrences of this in the past, it sounds like he would have been able to get at least about $700 or so from Toyota or the dealership if he'd been polite or reasonable about it instead of going all drunken boxing orthogonal elbows at anything that moves.

Not sure if it is advertising, but it is part of your contract when you purchase. You are being charged for everything on the sticker. It sounds like the sticker comes from the manufacturing plant, but if that's the case, why did my new '22 4runner have the 2.5 inch lift listed on the sticker, when I am sure the dealer did the lift. I think the dealer can reprint stickers, which would lay the blame on a dealer not the manufacturer if that is the case.

You guys keep glossing over the part where the dealer took his order for a truck with a sub and amp, and it was printed on the sticker. :shrug emoji:

I took it as he ordered "Premium Audio" which is what he paid for and received.
