I noticed on the driver side window seals that they seem a bit loose or not as snug as they should be up against the paint. Do these look like they should be closer or fit better? About to take it to the dealer… I’ve seen a couple other tacomas and they seem to have a more snug fit and less gap…

The driver window seal seem like it should be more in line with the rear of the seal as it seems to be “up” a bit and not in its place…

Or am I letting my ocd get to me? Lol. Anyone have any window seal gap issues on a brand new truck? First 2 pics are off the rear passenger drivers side window and the third pic is the driver dwindow

Overthinking, but if it keeps you up at night, trade it in and write a strongly worded letter to Toyota

    It's a secret
Perhaps draft a bullet-point with your concerns about those details and request some type of warranty if those seals fail prematurely because they don't look like they are installed securely compared to other Tacomas.
...And you probably meant OCD, not ADD...

PFL Customs roof rack, Body Armor Hi-line bumper. X20 Gen 2 Smittybilt winch, PFL Customs bed rack. Dirt bound rack supports.
All the 2022 tacoma are assembled in Mexico now they were kicked out of Texas haha, provided parts from the US and some Japan, but all the plastic bits including your plastic snaps on your grill fender lining and all that is now provided by the Tijuana factory which is outsourced from china, so just like the Fords they might be loose to tight snaps might break and become brittle faster. My dads rear window leaked on his, he brought it back to the dealer they fixed it no problem but check the whole truck for bad hardware or poorly assembled items.

Just my opinion btw have a ford ranger from mexico and all my plastic pins and snaps are garbage.

yeah I know… I heard about it prior to buying the truck and definitely can see the lack of quality in the plastic stuff. My 03 4Runner was super solid compared to my 22 taco… plastics-wise and some other stuff… went through about 3 hours of rain on a road trip and luckily didn’t detect any leaks “knock on wood”. These seals seam to collect dust under em, not a huge deal, yet, it’d be nice if the dealer agrees with me, ha… How long or how much rain or washing of the truck til your Dad noticed the leak?

The US built and Mexico built Tacomas were assembled with identical parts and no difference in quality. That did not change with the shift in overall production locations.

But assembled in not built in. And like with every car maker parts are sourced from all over the world, unfortunately it's mostly China.

They are off. Check the bed, it is probably mounted crooked. Speedo is not exact. Transmission is jerky, am I wrong? ...especially when cold. What else is wrong with this piece of shit? But, will it get Ya back home on a bad day? Anyways, I like mine.

Transmission isn't too bad for the lag it has haha, I like it. I learned how to drive it correctly. But yeah, its under warranty and for a $50k truck im gonna get fixed whatever I can, while I can. Id be more of a dummy to just look past it. Also the cruise control is sometimes 1 mph over lol.... I also love mine too, if I could do it all over, id still buy the same exact truck that came available when it did.

Yeah, that definitely doesn't look right. I'd think that would qualify as a manufacturer defect. If so, the dealer should fix it under warranty, no problem. I absolutely would want it fixed too.

Yeah, it's a little thing and some on here are going to marginalize it because it's not their truck or their problem. In reality though, if it WAS their brand new truck that they'd just spent big $$$ on, I'd be willing to bet that they'd have a much different opinion.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

My driver's side passenger window gasket is also loose across the top of the door for me......sags about a quarter inch with the window down.
Top left corner looks like a defect in the molding
    process.
Glad I'm not alone on this!
I'm sure my dealership will get it fixed up.

Absolutely, they would. Definitely will keep everyone posted. I plan on taking it in early next week with a short list of concerns.

Everyone should be concerned. This drops the value of our trucks marketwise.

It begins with this and then just snowballs into an unstoppable avalanche of seismic proportions unable to be quenched.
