Like blinker fluid leaks or Toyota putting summer air in tires when it’s winter. The list goes on and on….

ah man, I heard about those things. Especially when I was a young buck. Good thing I have extra brake pad grease too. Blinker fluid can get expensive

No money, all went to truck...
That would bother me. take it in, or show it to them when you get your next service.

Yeah probably taking it in this Monday/ Tuesday. Just barely hit 2kmi on my taco, and don’t wanna wait for the first inspection/service, though, around October... I’ll have to mob the work van around, hopefully there’s not a long wait or whatnot. I’m not in a super rush.

thanks everyone that gave some input and piece of mind, much appreciated and good luck with our el plastico tacomas haha

Because somehow QCQA on an automated process goes completely out the window when there isn't an always vigilant, never hung-over American overseeing it.

I love how People on here try to normalize poor build quality when spending almost 50k for a midsize truck.

Do you seriously think that any Toyota plant operates under sweatshop conditions? Dude.

Pay is all relative to location. In 2016 the average annual income in Mexico was 46,500 Pesos or about $2300 at current exchange rates. If the plant worker is making $110 a week and getting two weeks of a year they are doing well above average at $5500 a year.

Interesting. Thanks for the input. Im sure that maybe if they got paid more, maybe the quality would go up? or Maybe some parts are made from China, who knows. I sure don't. But obviously quality has gone down. In a lot of ways I miss my 03 4runner with over 300k miles. But having a truck is much better and more practical for my needs. And like I said in previous posts, id buy the same truck again. We can only get what we can get. Although, iPhones are made pretty solid and they are from sweat shops in China...??? The world is f'd...

I will say no matter where Toyotas assembly is, the main reason I even drive this truck is because toyota listens to its customers. The dealer I got my truck from never question fixing small stuff or big stuff. And when the following year model comes out the problems people had before dont have them anymore.

My ranger was a shit box from the mexico factory and Ford refused to touch it unless it was a recall item and even then was a pain in the ass.

Wow asshole never said I had a problem with mexican assembling anything they do bomb ass work, my thing is the lower restrictions on quality control in the factories in mexico themselves. It is well known outside of toyota the quality suffered from the mexico factories not on a parts level but where they source their hardware. None of thay has anything to do with the racial background of the person assembling the thing. But since thats where your mind goes and those conversations are draining im out of this thread ✌️

Joking aside, the belt molding is not clipped in all the way (3rd picture) Just roll down the window and give it a few good hits with your palm and it will snap into place. The other molding (1 and 2) are normal.

The dealership ordered a new window gasket for me and installed it (under warranty), it fits much tighter with no slop like the original one.
