I do believe that you are correct, and there are a number of other folks with crawl boxes installed in 6 speeds, but as far as I know they are all using an inchworm adapter. To my knowledge Marlin never made these adapters even for their own crawl boxes. If you ordered a crawlbox from Marlin for a 6-speed, they shipped you an inchworm adapter. Now that Inchworm isn't around and they don't have solution, Marlin has just stopped taking orders for a 6-speeds because they can't make it work in your truck till they get it figured out, which is clearly not their priority right now.

With that said, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "reproduce an inchworm style adapter that would be more flexible." This coupler should still work with any 23 spline crawl box input as long as the spline depth is less than 1.4" give or take. A shorter input should not be a problem...it just won't engage as deep. In addition, I am not aware of anyone else except Marlin who is building crawlboxes for the 2nd gens so the only other possibility to consider is someone with a used inchworm box that doesn't have Marlin gears in it. Let me know if you think I'm missing something.
I'm hoping to pick them up tomorrow and get the crawl box in this weekend :fingerscrossed:

    Stay tuned!

That makes sense; I was referring to posts 34-35 and was curious how Marlin handled sales previously. I was not aware they included or sold an IW adapter. Looking forward to the progress.

    Cheers

Gotcha...I see why you were asking. I have learned more since then and based on the conversations I have had since that post, making it specific to Marlin doesn't necessarily mean it will only work with Marlin.

I wouldn't swap the taco case back in anyway. Check eBay, I got mine delivered in two or three days from North Dakota.

I'm sure you know this but I'd hate for what happened to me to happen to you. Call and ask them to put hands on the actual case and verify it has a big ass shift lever. They all use the same computer system which incorrectly states the auto FJ case will also fit Tacomas and 4Runners. The first case I got came from a 4Runner.

I went back and forth for over a week with the seller getting that clarified and an actual FJ case in my hands.
