Pretty much the title - looking for recommendations ( advise to avoid ) on a bed/rooftop tent for a TRD Pro, which is the short bed.

I tried a few searches, but didn't come up with anything specifically related.

Thinking to keep it hard-shell and BELOW the roof line when closed up. I have the Decked system already, so I can't go in to the bed itself.

Welcome and appreciate any and all comments and suggestions.

    Thanks

    Non yet.
I have a CVT Mt Theilson (unfolds to the side) on a full height bed rack. Bought both used. Recommend a aluminum hard shell as others have mentioned cracks in the ABS/fiberglass hard covers. Also a half height rack would help my gas mileage out a lot. I see a lot of the wedge RTTs with the shocks on the outside of the tent. I would worry about limbs damaging those so look for ones with shocks inside the tent.

    Just opinions.

Perfect - that's the advice I am looking for - I would like (as you suggested) a 1/2 height rack to keep it low. I didn't know about the aluminum vs ABS/fiber shells, but that makes sense.
