Hell, for the price difference, I'd jump on the 01 lunar mist double cab. Lower milage and a dam nice looking truck. Makes my 03 lunar mist DC look ugly, even if it isn't. But the final decision is yours. but remember this, some of these trucks don't sit on a lot for sale very long. Someone will come along with a Tacoma Boner and jump on one of these, and it will be gone.

Ah the Tacoma boner....if it doesn't last at least 4 hours then you aren't really an enthusiast

Thats a restored and likely SUPER RARE classic car: This is a high mileage early 2000s pickup truck with high miles and a uselessly small bed...

Just to add a little fuel, after 150K, the miles don't really make a difference to me. Could be 250K, 300K, I assume the worst in all respects.
Just bought a '99 4Runner Limited with 275k for 2 grand. Bushings are all shot and the paint is blown apart, but mechanically its as good as any.

I was wrong, mine has 83k miles :)

I like my truck but for 22k I would have to let someone have it.

If it lasts more than four hours then you need to seek medical attention.

Tf was the reserve I wonder... Hell you can rebuild a 200k 5VZ with performance parts, aftermarket ECU, turbo kit, increased redline, etc for less than the margin on these "holy grail" Tacomas.

Late model 2nd Gen's with 100k+ miles are going for low to mid $20k all day long around here.

Respectfully I’m not the biggest fan of the 2nd Gen look... although I’ve never driven or owned one so my assessment probably isn’t that great...

Huge difference, 1st gen is a true "mini truck" the 2nd gen is not. Manual transfer case vs actuator etc. The fit and finish from the frame up are totally different as well
