Put on steel wheels from an 07 Camry and some 235/75r15 wranglers, painted up the hubs and now the truck actually looks like a truck... It even seems like I could have gone with 30x9.5s because they don't come close to rubbing even with those little black boxes still in place.

    Before:

    And After:

    Conclusions:
Camry wheels fit perfectly, 235/75r15s fit perfectly, black wheels make everything look better, TPMS sensors from stock 2wd wheels won't fit in Camry Steel Wheels, and 3.31 gears are the bane of my existence.

    Any thoughts/recommendations?

    Thanks man!

I wanted to get cragars but I found these wheels on craigslist for $80 and they had never been used, so I really couldn't pass that up. And they are a 45mm offset like the stock wheels so they don't stick out of the car, which I like.

They tie together all the other black trim like mirrors, door handles, inside the bed and front bumper/grill. I usually don't care for white letters out but in this case it looks good, those and the lugs break up the solid blackness just right IMO. Time for the adjustable int wiper mod, factory cruise control mod and some ebay fogs. Just saying since it looks like base model which is what mine is. I like the roll up windows/manual locks/5 spd simplicity but cc, int wiper & fogs are nice to have. Did it much cheaper than gettin it already on it when buying.

You have read my mind... or know me... not sure which. Those are the next things I really want to do to the truck. Well the cheaper things anyway. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I need to do to get 3.73 gears in the back. I'm getting alot of conflicting information about the whole process. I love this truck to death but since getting bigger tires my 0-60 time could be measured by a calendar and I really want to use 5th gear again other than going +70mph.

Are foglights a evening job or a weekend job? My eagerness to mod my truck is inversely proportional to the amount of money in my bank account, so I won't be able to do much of anything any time soon.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Turns out the cheap route works out sometimes. But much like after getting a new 42" TV after living with the tires for a bit i keep thinking... "i should have gone a bit bigger."

    Thanks man!

Your truck looks good with the larger tires... Access cabs beg for larger tires. Every time I go on a trip and have lots of crap blowing around in the bed (including dogs) I think "i should have gotten the access cab."

Can you tell me what the width is on those Camry rims? Do you have some side shots with amount of wheel stick-out from body edge? Thanks in advance!

The Wheels are 15" x 6.5" and the offset is 45mm, which is the same as the steel wheels that come stock on the 5-lug. When I get home later I'll take a shot of the side. I really don't like the way wheels look when they jut out the sides of the truck so that's why I didn't get cragars or pro-comps.

    Here ya go Motoretro,

As you can see they are still well inside the wheel well. Since the camry wheels are 6.5 inches wide and have the same offset they stick out as much as if you put a 1/4" spacer on the wheels. So they look better than stock but they are still under the truck. I would definitely get camry wheels again if i had to do it over. There just aren't any 5 lug black steel wheels that have a high enough offset to keep them inside the fenders. Unless anyone knows of some I've overlooked?

Hey that looks great, good choice & the 6.5" width is a better fit for the 235's than 6". I need to find 4 of these wheels!

    Thanks,

    Goatus,
In searching for a set of 2007 Camry 15"x6.5" rims, I'm coming up bumpkus.....Are you sure they are 2007's? My research indicates the last year for 15" rims is 2006. Either you're running 16" rims from 2007 or the rims came off 2006 & prior. Can you shed some light here?

    Sorry for the late response...
The craigslist ad i responded to was for a set of 4 wheels that were 15 x 6.5 off of a 2007 camry. He might have meant a 2006 model year camry. Regardless the wheels I have are 15 x 6.5 with 60.1mm bore.

    Goatus,
Do you feel you have enough power w/ 3.31 gears to pull 5th gear w/ the larger tires?

    Thanks, Motoretro
