Maybe seek out the 265/75/R16 Cooper ATP

Seems it's the 4ply cousin to the AT3 tires and is lighter but just as good looking.
@145 a tire at my local DT.

I was told only Discount Tire had them but can't confirm that.

I had the AT3 in 265/75 in whatever load range it comes with (P or C?) on my '04 Tacoma and absolutely loved it. Again, E just seems a bit much for my current Tacoma. Otherwise I can't speak highly enough of that tire.

Makes me lean towards the AT3s in C,
Then I realized between the wifes CRV, and the In-Laws three vehicles they all have Coopers on them. hahaha

I've been thinkng about getting Michelin ltx ms2 tires next and I was initially going to go with p265/75/16. Lately I've been thinking about the skinny 235/85/16's. Would these look terrible with their car like tread? Anyone seen this? My truck is a 90% pavement queen. Has a 2" lift all around. 2nd gen quad cab 4wd

I don't think the tread would make them look any different than the 265's with the same pattern. A hair taller than the 265's but roughly 1.5" narrower.

image.jpg Srry v6 but it's on ko2 235/85r16 and I love them. That have been awesome this winter. It's been a lot of fun to drive on these. I'm torn tho on my next set. I might go to 265/75r16 just to find a lighter tire that's not rated E..

I have those tires too! They are a great compromise between traction capability and quiet ride.

My brother recently bought a Nissan Frontier with some kind of Dick Cepek M/Ts and it's obnoxiously loud at anything over 20mph. That's subjective but it would drive me crazy. The Toyos are as quiet as the old Dunlops were, and they look better, have better offroad traction and are tough as nails!

I like the peace of mind that comes with an E rated tire. Some of the stuff I drove out west last year would have made me nervous on the old Dunlops but the Toyos gave me confidence.

agreed, the 235/85/16 E-rated have been really great in the snow this winter. really happy with the ko2's in that size

You trim the flaps or are they different?

    Looks real good.

Cooper at3's. 235 85 16 with about 30k miles. Pretty happy with them. Truck is on 5100's with 885's and dakars with the add a leaf in the rear.

QFT - I love the size but load range E is obnoxious for my truck. Too stiff, bouncy and heavy. I hate to say it but I cannot wait til I wear down my 235/85 Cooper AT3s and get to replace them

Thanks! I love the tires and the combination with the Toyota alloys. I have only had them on there since late December but have done some light wheeling and a trip to Tennessee with them and they have been great.
I had to go look lol, they previous owner did indeed trim the front flaps. He did a good job as I didn't even really pay attention. It used to have gaudy to me 17' wheels with p rated 265/70/17 tires, that was my only big dislike about it when I got it. The truck also has a tuff country spacer front and add a leaf rear 3' lift, this also was installed by the previous owner and I plan on replacing it as soon as I can.

Also I'm running a little higher PSI then other I think but I decided on it based on the stock tires recommended psi and that load range it supported (running 45psi). I don't find the e range too rough and they havent really shown any wear at all let alone uneven wear. I like the added protection because of the extra weight that I plan on adding with my build plan.

Does anybody have transmission problems or did some gearing work? I have an '01 regular cab 4x4 4cyl automatic and I am leaning towards at3 235s. I am worried about the automatic transmission handling the bigger tires/small engine combo resulting in making it shift weird. Any help would be great. Thanks
