Anyone have pictures of 235/85/16 duratrac on a 3rd gen?

Originally wanted 255/85/16 but the lack of winter capable tires is keeping me away. And I figure the skinner 235 would lead to less rock chips up on the side of the truck

255 will still sit inside the wheel well just fine if you are on factory wheels without spacers. The problem is 235’s can be borderline dangerous being too small for the weight of our trucks (specifically when turning - very thing traction patch on wet road). I break the 255’s free sometimes (turning out of an area with acceleration), but can imagine a traction width as small as a 235.

I run the Hankook AT RF11 in the snow and they have done well so far, but I’m running a 255/75/17.

I have seen one truck with the tire size you mentioned. I saw it in traffic and it made me do a double-take because it looked odd. I’m sure on dry pavement and trails it would probably work fine, if you took turns a little less aggressive than normal...but for our trucks it looks a little odd and way small.

one thing to note is that the Duratracs have a very low wear rating which means they wear faster due to the rubber composition and tread pattern...may want to consider that, although they are considered a good AT tire.

I run 235/85R16’s on my ‘13 without issue. I have Cooper Discoverer M+S snows with studs for the winter on stock steel wheels. These replaced 265/75R16 General ArticMax studded tires. The Coopers are light years better than the Generals.

I don’t have one yet. I’ll try to remember to get one tomorrow. From the side, they look the same as 265s. Tire tread is about the same width as the stock 245s that came on my truck.

I have 245/75R16 DM-V2 snow tires on mine right now. As narrow as I want to go... but like having a narrow tire in the snow.
