Winter's around the corner in the Great White North(west) and I've landed on a set of of Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3's. Mostly will be doing mountain pass/city driving, no offroading. I am leaning towards the studded option because why not.

I can get them in the stock 245/75/16 or try something different in the 235/85/16.

Does anyone have experience specifically with dedicated winter tires in the tall skinny option?

Another question- these tires are both load E. Is this a cause for concern for a winter tire performance due to stiffness?

    Thanks

Hakkas are made for winter. Period. People still have to work and haul shit in the wintertime hence the e rated.

I'm curious about this too - what did you decide to go with?

I ended up finding a really good deal on blizzak dmv2's in 265/70/r16. I will report back on this thread in a few months once we see more snow.
