Thread revival... I couldn't wait to wear out my 245/75-16 Michelin LTX AT/2's (40k so far, lots of thread left) and decided to order KO2 235/85-16 :D Mounting them on first gen 16x7 black steelies. The difference in backspacing should stick these skinny tires out a bit over stock steel wheels. I'll post pics next week!

Can't wait to see what they will look like! Definitely interested as to how your mpg will be affected! I am burning up my 245s during a 10,000 mile cross country trip this summer...then I'll be able to justify the 235s!

Do the first gen steelies fit your second gen? I should google it, but i'd like to hear it from someone who's done it.

Wheels might not be here until *end* of next week now, but I'll post pictures the first day I mount them :)

Anything with a 6x5.5 bolt pattern will fit, the first gens have .75-1" (I honestly can't remember at the moment) less backspacing, so the wheels will stick out .75-1" more which should be perfect with the skinnier tires.

Edit: maybe it's only .5" difference in backspacing.

I should clarify, any *Toyota* rim with same bolt pattern will work... there's lots of steel aftermarkets that don't clear the front brake caliper.

I’ve always been interested in either 235 or 255 on Black steelies. I’ve got a reg cab too an look forward to seeing what it it looks like on your rig. Where did you order the steelies from? Are you lifted at all?

Anxiously waiting to see what these look like too! I also keep telling myself to wait until i wear out my michelins too but 3 years later they still have alot of thread left! These tires are awesome but i want a taller tire, not a wider one!

Ok, just so I’m sure and I know this has been asked a lot before but I need to hear it again, lol, 235/85/16’s will fit on my truck with a 2” leveling kit and a 1” rear lift right? No chance of it rubbing anywhere right? :D Thank you!

Wow! I thought it would have had rubbing issues if it was stock height. See, this is why I ask questions! Lol

I'm running that size on stock wheels and stock suspension and I flex it out to the limits off road and the tire has never touched anything anywhere, no cutting

o shit I just realized I responded to this thread like 6 months ago saying almost the same thing. Oh well it stays

What tire pressure are you running with those LR-E tires?

35, see my post here. That's what Americas Tire set them to when they installed them and it seems to work great.

I don't know what stance y'all are looking for, but these wheels make a 235 85 sit out a little tiny bit more than a 256 on the stock rims

If you like the stance you won’t.
    Any pics?
