239k, never had a tune-up or changed plugs. Is this unusual?

    It's a 21.1 gallon tank...

    420miles÷21gallons=20mpg

I average 20mpg in my tacoma.

My truck is pretty much factory...IJS

    This^^^

OP: It's a miracle your coils haven't given up. Out of spec gaps greatly tax the coils. It's also a miracle the plugs are not seized in the head. Then you changed them and used the wrong plugs. Tacomas can take a lot of abuse, but that is no excuse for neglecting your truck. So you are not all knowing? You never thought to look at your owners manual?

For the brain surgeons who think the 30,000 mile schedule for plugs is a dealer conspiracy, try this simple test:
    1. gap and install new plugs
    2. drive 30,000 miles and pull them
What do you find? You will find that the gap is now a couple of thousandths above spec. THAT is the reason for the 30,000 mile spec on plug change. Yes you could clean them, regap and put them back in probably a few times, but the are so cheap to just replace.

I'm in a bad mood this morning because like most mornings, I'm off to fix a problem caused by someone elses total lack of competence. Not only are people today fine with being incompetent, many are actually proud of it.

Can I have your old 30k plugs? I'm too cheap to just replace them that often.
