    Update: verified as fitting

It appears as though 2018+ Camry, 2019+ Avalon, and 2019+ ES 350 have a 23.81 mm master cylinder. Part number is # 47201-06510. While a bit premature with the info, it does look as though it will be a bolt in for the Tacoma. OEM is a bit pricey, so a used unit is enroute to verify measurements... if it's a go, then a new unit will be ordered.

Additional info... this is for rear disc conversions and calipers that require a higher volume of fluid. It may be a much cleaner solution to the often utilized 2007 Sequoia master cylinder, which requires an adapter plate and line extensions.

Also, keep in mind many brake “upgrades” don’t work. Check out the owners that put on rear disc brakes on their Tacoma. A shit ton of money with more potential problems. Also, drilled rotors, aftermarket pads, etc.

But I’ll watch the mod if you’re doing it.

I rather not mess with the brake system. This isn't like a putting a dual chamber master cylinder on your 1961 bug with has a single chamber

Is the 23mm bigger than the OE? If it is, then he is doing a Frankenstein brake upgrade.

I assume you are wanting to create more brake line pressure to stop harder by using a higher volume master?

I had lots of brake problems with my Jeep after doing lift & tires. I never did a brake upgrade because I just didn't want to spend the money on the expensive parts. I do like the idea of a Frankenstein upgrade though.

Larger MC piston bore means less pedal travel and harder pedal.
    (more effort)

Trying to move more volume will not increase pressure... only fluid volume.

A smaller bore will require more pedal stroke but will apply more pressure, but less volume. (disc + drum combo or manual brakes)

With front and rear discs, the caliper pistons require more volume to fill the bores... hence the bigger master cylinder bore diameter.
Power assist is key because of the increased pedal effort needed to stop,

Well I'm definitely not a mechanical expert. But I have researched upgrades (and prices) for the Jeep. So most aftermarket systems seem to require a bigger MC?

Bigger tires would need bigger calipers and rotors to overcome the rotational force of heavier and larger tires.

This adds fluid capacity for rear discs.

I have read the threads where folks have installed the 23 mm Sequoia master and had issues. This should be a much cleaner/OEM install.

If one is content with the drums, then stay with them.

Yes, that is what I learned - And bigger MC's to feed the system?
