You all might not believe this, but I got 24.9 MPG on my last fill-up. This was strictly highway, between the Sunoco at 1601 Dewey Ave Williamsport, PA and the Shell at 5757 Seminary Rd Falls Church,VA. I was barely below the 1/2 tank mark with the 232.3 miles on the trip.

Since I towed my boat from Savannah to Charleston and then Charleston to VA on July 1 I have seen my mileage skyrocket. Maybe the extra effort on the motor broke it in. Whatever the change, I'm happy.

I track all my services with this site below if anyone wants to see how the gas mileage has improved.

    www.mileagetracker.org/showBike.php?id=1787&showOnlyGas=1

Here's a pic of the truck with my project boat, 1983 Bayliner 1950 Cuddy. Now for sale, unfortunately. Girlfriend didn't like the idea of turning our extra bedroom into a workshop. One day I'll have a garage...

yeah, after I tow or haul a load I always get better mpg for the next tank as well. Maybe the ECU remembers some better shift points or some something that helps, over 20 and having fun :)

I can't get that mileage out of my 2.7. I guess I should of bought the 4.0. Oh well, live and learn.:(

Best I've done is 22.1, but that was through the mountains of Wash. and Idaho. Good job!

I’ve tracked my last three tanks using an app on my Iphone and have averaged 17.3miles on all tanks with aggressive driving, 50%freeway/50%local.

Every time I fill up I write down the odometer reading. I let the pump go until it clicks off, then squeeze and let it keep filling till it clicks off again.

In my experience the first half of the tank is LESS than the second. From what I've seen it's 9-9.5 gallons.

OK. You sound legit. One of my dumbass friends claimed 27 MPG from his Tundra. He was dividing his miles by his total tank capacity (he also got the tank capacity wrong)

I've acutally noticed that my first half is more then my second. And did you actually filled it back up after the drive to get the gallon used or did you estimate what was used? 24.9mpg seems a bit out there.

    Now that I don't believe.

The 24.9 is very questionable. I've gotten high 22s stock, tires over inflated, tailwind while drafting a semi most of the time.

Like I said above, I fill it up, make sure it's full, and record the mileage. Did the same this time. I'm not pulling numbers out of thin air.

This tank was 60-65 mph, through some big hills and big downhills. I drafted behind semis/ trailers/ SUVs where I could and had the tires at 35psi. I also had a big rubbermaid container and a cooler in the bed, which may have helped the airflow like tonneaus do.
